I think pizza is the one food lacking in Houston. I really do not know of a great pizza place. If I want pizza in Houston, I will have my mom make me some authentic homemade stuff.

Romano's on West Gray just west of Waugh. Very solid NY style pizza

I really don't eat pizza often. Star Pizza in Midtown was pretty good.

They are horribly overpriced and everyone that works there is a complete jackass.

It hurts my soul to say this, but the "Wrigley" pizza (#### the cubs) at Candelari's on Washington is heavenly (or it was 6 months ago); Barbra Bush pizza (chicken/artichoke) at Fuzzy's; everything I've had at Romano's on West Gray; Deep dish on wheat at Star with whatever toppings you want...

I'm a big proponent of the "build your own pizza" option.

Brother's Pizza and Star Pizza for dine-in. Pizza Inn (if you're an Alief person you might be familiar with this) for pizza chain-style pizza.

The closest thing to italian pizza you'll be able to get in Houston is either at Dolce Vita or Da Marco's. Both are delicious.

Russo's in Cypress and Grimaldi's in Sugar Land and The Woodlands are the only places in town that do coal fired NY style pizza's. Both are very good. Brothers also rocks.

I like the pizza from Colina's which is a small (I think) local chain of Italian Restaurants. If you like New York-style pizza than Romano seems to be very popular. But you have to like New Your-style pizza.

This is also where I thought of, although I've never had their pizza. I stopped in a couple of times for pasta and the servings were generous and seemingly authentic. I figure their pizza is the same.

Cici's. There's locations all over Houston. And it's all you can eat, too

I second Russo's on 290 just west of Highway 6. Best pizza I've had, and I regularly get Star.

    Alfredo Pizza @ Fuzzy's

    Starburst @ Star Pizza

Thin crust only. Houston seems to suck at deep dish.
