I don't know if anybody saw this or not, but on HBO's World Championship Boxing, Floyd Mayweather, the most talented boxer alive, was fighting against someone named Henry Bruseles. In one round, the announcers were talking to each other about who would win the Patriots-Steelers game, and then out of nowhere, during the match, Mayweather turned his head to the announcers and said "Patriots." Then he quickly dodged a punch and continued to beat up Bruseles. That was the most awesome thing I have seen in quite some time.

I remember when Pernell Whittaker would talk to women sitting ringside while he was fighting.

That's pretty cool, wish I would have been able to watch it.

In realted boxing news, Lennox Lewis has reportedly agreed to return to the ring to fight Vitali Klitschko late this year. I've never been a big fan of Lewis, and I hope Klitschko puts a beating on him, like he was in the last fight before the cut.

    From FightNews.com

Former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis says he's coming back. "I've had to listen to a lot of rubbish from Klitschko and he is starting to get on my nerves," said Lewis to the Sunday Mirror. "I'm making a comeback later this year. The money is up to 21 million pounds (US$39.3 million) right now and I simply can't turn that much cash down. I'm going to start training seriously and I'm going back to England to start sorting this out," said Lewis, who lives in Jamaica's Montego Bay. I need the money just like everyone else and it's just too good to turn down."

The even funnier thing was that the announcers were caught by surprise by the first interjection by Mayweather but in the next round, Jim Lampley waited for Mayweather to come close to them and then quickly asked "Hey Floyd, Falcons or Eagles?" Floyd answered between dodges and a perfect left to the face of his opponent (one of many that round) saying "I like Mike Vick."

For just a couple of seconds there was a pause as if they (and I) were waiting for a lengthy in depth explanation of what he thought the Falcons chances were against Philly's tough run defense but it didn't come. I think Lampley was disappointed. (I know I was.)
