Ive always felt the league was a family. Seems Flip has been around forever, and it cuts a little more knowing it impacts McHale, who has seen his fair share of pain the last few years. I only hope that Flip is in a better place. A little part of me will pay more attention to the wolves than I usually do this year.
Saw this earlier and was sad. Really liked Flip. Saw that picture of KG at his parking spot and realized that I REALLY liked Flip. The year he guided KG, Sprewell, Cassell to the WCF. And even before that even dealing with knuckle-head Marbury. He seemed a great guy, and I am sure the loss will be felt courtside here by McHale. RIP Flip.
Rest in peace Coach Flip. Great Ambassador to the game...and as per people in and around the Minny organization...hell of a human being. The Timberwolves could honor his memory by going out there and getting in the playoffs. My prayers and condolences to his family.

Totally shocked. I remember recently reading a headline that he would not be back this season. That to me meant recovery in process, just needed time. RIP
I'm on an iPad so trying to embed this is a pain but Andray Blatche's tweet hits hard... https://mobile.twitter.com/drayblatche/status/658448693721337856
RIP Flip, you were a warrior. Cancer sucks in so many way & the treatment is beyond brutal, I dealt with alot of cancer patients when I volunteered as an aid at a cancer treatment center. The radiation is hell, it burns the flesh to a crisp, sometimes to the point where the patient barely looks even looks recognizable especially if it's throat/tongue cancer or lymphoma. I can't even describe the look most of the patients have on their face when they're getting ready for treatment, it would bring tears to the eyes of even the manliest of men.
This is absolutely horrible. God bless your family, and may you rest in peace, Coach Saunders. Absolutely horrible to see this happen to a young man like that.
Wow very sad news, I too read the news couple of days ago and thought it's a matter of recovery time bf he gets back. I really liked his days with the Pistons rip flip
RIP. When he suddenly stepped down publicly the Wolves organization were saying things weren't that bad but I had heard reports that things were worse than originally thought. I just saw on local MN news this morning a report that he had been in a coma for awhile.
I read today that he got pneumonia and was in a coma for the last six weeks. But all the reports prior made it look like it was only a matter of time for him to recover and come back, that was what shocked me. Didn't even get to see KAT play and watch the future of his beloved team on an nba court. R.I.P
