So, I take the dog, we'll call her "Gretchen" on a walk, and she pees on a fire hydrant (typical dog  ). Well, later on she goes to drop a deuce, and her poop is like strung together like Vienna Sausages. I know this is an unpleasant image, but my roomie had to pull this thing he thought was tape worm out of her bottom the other day, and what I saw looked like the same thing. Well, I was wondering, is this a situation that will just fix itself in time, or should we take her to the Vet for worms. I hate shelling out 80 bucks and all the Vet says is its getting better don't worry. Fix my dog and people suppose get horny.

take her to the vet...absolutely...if they are worms, she'll need some medicine to kill them.

    worms make me very unfomfotable.

    YoYao?

...any worms in a dog can be bad news. While you're there, get a blood test for heartworms, too...

Take your dog to the vet. Better safe than sorry. The money is probably worth the piece of mind. Or in this case, the piece of dog poo. :D

Well its my roomies dog, but fix my dog sounded better than fix my roomies dog. Anyway, I'm moving to DC on Tuesday, I just wanted to give the kid some advice.

DEFINITELY take the dog to the vet. Sure, you have to pay some money but is it worth being cheap at the expense of a pet becoming severely sick?

Besides, if you don't do that then later on you will get on here and post "that you are regret now".

I'd take the dog to the vet. If he's not going to take care of it, he probably shouldn't have one. I wouldn't trust the de-wormer at Wal-Mart to get the job done. I would definitely get the dog de-wormed and get a heartworm test.

Take the dog to the vet. If your worried about an $80 vet bill you probably shouldn't have a dog.

If the worm was long ii was probably a round worm. A tapeworm looks like a grain of rice. Both types of worms can be easily treated with a pill perscribed by your Veterinarian.

Once When I was walking my dog it had this wierd thing sticking out of its a**. It turns out it was wrapping from a piece of summer sausage. That red plastic stuff. a piece of it had fallen on the ground when i made a sandwich and she ate it....glad it came out of her with no problems...still that was wierd. My first thought was worms.
