I dropped my older son off for his first day of kindergarten today. Wow. A bit more emotional than I expected. He did great. Amazing to watch kids grow up. As I was walking out of his classroom he said, "Dad!" I turned around and he flashed me the Bobby Sura/Jon Barry upside down OK symbol. Man, I love that kid!!!
Jack is awesome. Seriously one of the coolest kids I've ever met. Booing Beltran, doing the White Boy Power Squad hand sign, playing air violin to Dave...he's great! Good job, man.
That's awesome!!! I'm a girl and I'd love for my son or daughter to do that to me!! (When that time comes around.)
my wife was already starting to cry as we were walking out of the room it's such a weird thing. i know he'll do great...i know he's so ready to be in school everyday. and you want him to grow up well...but it's hard at the same time.
haha! that'll be me!!! why does school start on a Thursday? seems like an odd 2-day week to kick things off?
it is odd. i think it's sort of a couple days to get used to it...then a weekend before a full week..????? just my guess.
My oldest daughter starts junior high wednesday, I have the same feelings as when she started kindergarten. Every age there is always a new adventure for parents.
Great story Max. I remember when my boy (now 12 going on 29 ) woke up on the first day of kindergarten, he rubbed his eyes, sat up in bed, and exclaimed, "Am I going to learn to read today, Dad?" Great times.
We can relate. Our 4-year old just finished a week alone at her grandparents. Sounds like a cool kid there, MadMax.
My oldest did the kindergarten thing last year....he loved it. I take him to school every day......even though it is early (he has to be at school at 7:35am) it is worth it. Mom's day gets a little bit easier too. DD
That's awesome! So we're sure the symbol just means "Ok?" From the way they were so cryptic about revealing what it meant, I figured it had some sort of sexual meaning.
My girls went to 3rd and 1st respectively...My son goes to Pre-K in two weeks... Damn, I'm an old fart...
