So when I tried to open FireFox this morning it asked me to create a profile before being able to use Firefox. I tried to use the default one thinking thats the one I've been using and have all my bookmarks saved etc. Well it wouldn't let me use it, it made me create a new one....so I did. Now the bookmarks etc are all gone.... :(

How do I switch users to go back to default?

try ctrl-alt-del and then click on the process tab and end firefox.exe

that happened to me before..basically, i closed Firefox, but it kind hung up in memory even though it didn't show in the task bar ....so I killed the firefox.exe process and everything was fine

That's a frequent Mozilla issue. Never had it on Firefox, though.

If your profile really is corrupt, you can always hop into your old FF profile and grab your bookmarks.html file and then just import it into your new FF profile. You've got to go back and reinstall your themes and extensions, but that shouldn't be all that bad.

Slightly off topic but I was wondering if anyone else was having this issue... Firefox has been really slow for me and has actually been locking up my system. (OS X Tiger)
    Anyone else having issues?

I'm having some Firefox issues. Last night, for some reason, all my images started showing up funny. Like this:

    I've already re-installed.

    Can anyone offer advice?

Sorry, but I've another Firefox issue, does anyone have any idea what to do?

I downloaded some (approved) java or macromedia plugin a few weeks ago, and just about every site I visit that includes moving ads (SI.com, NBA.com team pages, newspaper sites) freezes the browser and then asks to send an error report to Mozilla's help center. Originally, the error told me that it was performing an illegal Active X operation ... now it's just shutting the whole thing down.

Is there anyway I can just purge all my plugins and start over?

Kelly, have you tried deleting the plugins in the program files? Path should be something like C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins. Folders has a bunch of .dll's. Try deleting everything in it.

There's some stuff in the registry for plugins, but I'd try the above first.
