Nice rumor, I suppose....Someone asking a FOX exec if they'd be up for it, and they answered they would greenlight it. But I'm perfectly fine with the "No Whedon, No Firefly" statement. Someone go interview Whedon, now.
In every interview I've seen with Joss over the last few years, he immediately and strongly dismisses any ideas of any sort of Firefly return. Says it'd be too hard to do with everyone's schedules, and blahblahblah. But I'm reminded of him, many years ago, begging fans to buy the special edition Serenity DVD, because if there would ever be hope of a sequel, it'd be because of the special edition sales. So like a good little sheep I went and bought it even though I already had the regular DVD (and, later, the Blu ray) and I never watch any special features. So really, I just feel like he owes me something. A short 6 episode series would probably be best, but I'd be happy for anything.
I won't bother to get my hopes up. There would be no need to bring back Shepherd anyway. He died in the movie. Spoiler.
