    110th,

There is a I love Gundy thread. Its called the Crow thread. I can't bring it up cuz I don't know if I can or not. But its there and it will be very full of crow eating people if the Rocks ever get a nice PG and a competent PF.

Hey, 110th, do you really live near 110th street? Near Columbia Univ? Nice restaurants around there. :)

    SO....whats the deal here?

the VG Haters Club down to edc, Roc and R03?

amazing what a team coming together and starting to play good will do to a club like theirs...

Who "hates" JVG? I certainly don't. I just want him coaching some other team.

I dislike him rather much, and I feel I would get great gratification out of his termination!

JVG needs to go elsewhere. Not a bad coach but he is for us. I just felt I had to post something to keep this going cause its been a while since I have said anything about JVG on here. He has adjusted his system but he shouldnt have had to do that in the first place. He is still learning though.

Lets just see how the rest of the season plays out. If the Rockets fail to make the playoffs then I think most of the people here will be back on the Fire JVG bandwagon and rightfully so.

For those who believe that nothing has changed in Van Gundyland through the course of the season, check out the ESPN the magazine thread:

I believe Tracy McGrady had more to do with "dumping the (old) offense" than JVG did.

that is a really weird statement bennie.......

He is in a no win situation as defined by you........You admit that he did what most people were beggin for...changed the system to adapt to his players......but most of yall were saying he would not or was incapable of doing so.

So now that he has done so and continues to do so....you say....he shoudn't have had to......what does that mean?

    which is it?

Did you not want him to adjust?

I just dont understand your reasoning.

I havent really weighed in on this much.......so here is my feeling..

I dont particularly like him as a person...but as a coach...he is doing a decent to good job in my eyes.
I would personally love to see Rudy come back...but I know that aint happeneing......

I also dont want anything to do with Big Chief Coattail-rider....which is a moot point since he aint coming here....but I dont really think he could do much more with the team than VG is doing....I certainly dont think our defense would be a s good with him at the helm...and Im a big fan of defensive teams....that is what wins in the playoffs...and I want playoff wins.

"Make the playoffs and fall in the first round," it is 50/50 whether JVG is back next year.

Few people would change an opinion on JVG, one way or the other, based on a loss in the first round, even one which goes to seven games.

It's funny that you talk as if you are speaking for the Rocket's organization, or for that matter the majority of Rocket's fans as a whole. Look around edc, everyone that wanted the man fired in the beginning of this thread has since said they have changed their stance. For some reason, you still believe you have this majority behind your illogical reasoning that JVG should be fired. Wake up.

edc, your point doesn't stand. Because your above comment is snide, immature and
completely missed the point. All you are saying is that you don't want to hear that there are NY fans that love JVG, which was a direct rebut to your other comments that NY (or enough) fans hated him.

    That was the POINT.

Turning the tables into a "then tell them to take him back if they love him to bad" is just, well, childishly immature.

And anytime you suggest that *everyone* or *most* or *many want* want him gone is also being picked appart each time you post them. You try to make these broad assumptions, then claim that *everyone* belives them.

Stop speaking for other Rockets fans and NY fans just to try and further your vendetta. Let them speak for themselves.

Oh yeah? More "stubbron" talk. Hmmmm, could it be that great players DO make a difference? Ya think? How many times I have I said this? How would a 25 year old Ewing do? Maybe a little better than injured, over the hill Ewing?

Kinda nice having a 30 PPG player named Tmac that is young, that has earned JVG trust. Do you think that Francis would have gotten the same green light for this long? Oh, and then there's those guys named Sura, Barry, and Howard that have help the Rox play better over the last few weeks. Could it be more chemistry? Better talent? Could it be any those factors too?

    Nah...

Didn't JVG change his style when the Knicks went to the finals. I just remember media saying that the Knick team wasn't the usual half court JVG style. Ewing was injured and he let Sprewell and Camby play to their strengths.
