Clutchfans, let's just put an end to all the trades threads and some it up like this. I'm going to place all the current Rox into catagories basically.

Yao - Untouchable (unless for LBJ)

Deke - Untoubhable (nobody probably wants him, and I would hope that Morey has more respect than to just through him in to make something work)

Tmac, Landry, Scola, Brooks - Would not want to loose, but for an immediate 100% upgrade, we'd have to at least entertain the offer

Battier, Bonzi, Rafer, Hayes - Though they are working pieces for this team, for somebody that would be a better fit and an possible upgrade, we'd probably part with..

Novak, Head - I think both will last in this league, both can hit the 3 and outside of there non-existent defense, they are team guys. they hustle and do everything that's asked, but because they will always be 2-demisinional NBA players (3pts shooters and good guys). they will probably always be included in a trade. I like both players, but wouldn't be hurt if they get caught on the business end of the deals.

Snyder, Francis, James - For an upgrade, definitely. For a draft pick, absolutely. For cash condisderations, with open arms. Basically, these people translate to: $10,624,659 in salary, combined(15.8ppg, 5.5apg, 5.2rpg) basically NOTHING

I say keep the trade threads going. It's the privilege of the fan. You don't have to read any of them. (Please do make them reasonable though)...

    My assesment on trade assets

    Yao - Untouchable

Deke, Bonzi, Snyder - exp. Contracts. most likely they will not comeback next year. Should be used for a third scorer. Dek can sign back as what stackhouse said.

Tmac - demage goods. But unless you want to rebuild, can't trade him during the middle of season.

Battier, Scola - very valuable assets. Unless get a cuurent all star (Thus, RonRon, mike miller not included), they will not go anywhere.

Landry - great potential. Probably with the same catargory of Battier, Scola. But it's more a risk move or no move.

L Head, Hayes - valuable assets. good role players. Will be fillers in the right situation.

Brooks, Novak - potential is there, but their values are much lower than landry. But I'd like to keep Novak. they will be fillers in the right situation.

R Alston - untouchable unless for another proved, experienced and reliable point guard whom not existed. ;)

    SF3 - a filler.

M James - bad contract, negative value. He will be here for a while.

    TMac is virtually untouchable.

not above consideration, but getting similar value is unlikely.

If Tmac is traded, you wont get immediated value for him (or what he should be).

Alright, here is my proposed deals that the Rockets could make to stregthen their core into a playoff push. All of these deals work under the trade checker and offer positives for both teams.

    1. Ben Gordon for Luther Head, Kirk Snyder, and Steve Novak
    - Head and Gordon are similar players with Gordon being a little more fiery and clutch than Luther. With the Bulls getting back a player in Gordons mold (Luther), the expiring contract of Snyder, and a 3pt specialist like Novak, they cut down on payroll after this season, and don't lose much.

    2. Mickael Pietrus for Luther Head and Kirk Snyder
    - The Rockets add a bigger back-up SG, that has more size than Luther, more athleticism, but less range. Head is under-sized guarding the SG's of the league, and he still wouldnt look like a point guard if you put a Stockton jersey on him, with tall socks and short shorts. Pietrus is unhappy in GS, and out of the rotation.

    3. Andre Miller for Rafer Alston, Steve Francis, and Kirk Snyder +1s rd
    - Alright, this one I'm completely torn on. Alston has been playing great ball as of late. Miller isnt much of a better shooter than Rafer. The player option in Francis contract is sure to come into play. I'm sure he would be happy taking another buyout if he did indeed land in that deal, but he wants to be in Houston, if we want him or not. This is by far the longshot, and adding a new starting pg mid-season is dangerous, esp in the West.

    4. Delonte West for Kirk Snyder + 2nd rd
    - This is just a simple swap of young under utalized talent for an expiring contract. Seattle is on the verge of selling the team, relocating, and as we learned with the Griz, payroll needs to come down to be attractive to potential buyers. This frees up money, and gets rid of one of their many pgs that seems to be out of the rotation. Simple economics.

    Gordon >>> Head. Not happening.

This is more realistic. Could be a good trade for us.

That would be an amazing trade for the Rockets, but I don't see it happening. Miller has to be worth more than that.

Again, a good trade for us. But I think the Sonics can do better.

Why are posters constantly avoiding the trade thread and then starting new ones with a preface like "i thought the old one was cluttered" or "this will be the final thread on the matter"

the trade thread is there for a reason.

your take is not good enough to warrant a new one...

Yeah I like the Pietrus trade too, but we are so close to GS, I wonder if that hurts our chances of making a deal with a team we are in a race with.

nobody is untouchable on this team. none of our players are top 5 players. none of them have done anything much for this organization (none of them are winners except for mike james--ironic?--and deke).

if morey sees a deal that would elevate us, he should do it. but he shouldn't do it where he has to gut the entire team.

right now, there is no deal to be made. we can only hope the role players continue to get better and and our stars can HOPEFULLY help us advance.

since bibby is now gone, the only 2 players i'd advocate of getting are two miller's. their first names are (in that order) andre and mike, respectively.

i will mow the lawn for morey free of charge for the next 3 years if he can pull either one off in next 24 hours! :D

here is a gamble of a trade but it may be good for us for the next 3 years that is when tmac's contract is up we would be stuck with vince for at least one more year because the following year he would be an expiring contract which is always easy to trade to a non playoff team so it would be just one year we would be suffering from him not being motivated but while he is here with tracy it may rejuvenate them both which would be an A+ for us and we aren't really gambling our rotation players in this trade. the would have to take mike james back but he comes off in 2 years. If new Jersey really wants to move vince before the deadline this might be as good as it is going to get

    rafer/brooks
    vince/bonzi
    tmac/shane
    scola/landry/shane
    yao/scola

end of game you go with the hot hands in the game may have battier at 4. what you guys think not as huge of a gamble as Dallas giving up harris

if we do not make a trade for a player of mike miller type this would be such a waste of a season in my opinon. really don't think we have enough right now to move beyond the second round of the playoffs. we seem to have a good relationship with upper managment with the grizzlies we need to deal with them again on miller please morey i am begging you for this. we have fought back from being damn near 10 games under .500 it would be all for nothing if we do not put some type of trade together for this last little push that this team needs. I do not want to be on this thead this summer talking about our what a waste of time all this was or we should have kept loosing so that we can have more ping pong balls. i look at all of the teams we will face and they are all making moves to improve themselves and getting ready for the playoffs well morey it is now our time or all this will be for nothing. (by the way if the artest to denver trade goes through it will be a nightmare for the west considering denver is not giving up a damn thing for him)

give them the draft pick that they want and if the need cash to buyout francis give them that also we need to be aggresive here before it is to late. Wish mr alexander would turn into mark cuban for the next 3 days just to make this deal here work. If we have to we will keep novak and give them brooks. Navarro would just like to have him for the playoffs but i know he may be a longshot can't hurt to try because they are going to loose him and maybe bonzi gets wavied and not pull a Jerry Stackhouse and we can sign him back after the 30 days i am really reaching now but it would be nice.

    rafer/brooks/james
    tmac/Navarro
    battier/miller/
    scola/landry/bonzi(after 30 days
    Yao/scola/mutumbo

think we would be damn close to a championship with that rotation
