I am a huge fan of the FF series, however I have somewhat skeptical of this game. I have never played Evercrack or anything like it (although I am aware of it - I had to fire an analyst because he was playing 20+ hours a week at the office). Still I am not quite sure how it works.

Does this game have an end?

Do you have to play with other people?

I only play about 4 hours of PS2 a week, mostly Madden online. Is it even worth my time?

My friend has it on PC and says it's amazing. The only problem is that you have to join parties for the higher lvl quests, so if you don't ever party, you'll never level up.

I am going to get the game. I want to experience this. If it sucks, atleast I have the hard drive that I can rip CDs to.

it's an opened eneded game with no ending. The purpose of these types of games is emerse yourself in the game's world, not to beat it.

It's a double-bladed sword. It can be really fun to group up with people and killing large monsters, but it can be a real drag when you just want to play alone but can't because levelling up requires you to group.

It's also kind of a bad idea to get involved with these games unless you have at least 15-20 hours a week to commit to it.

i read in a magazine about the top 10 most anticiapated games of 2004 for PC. And the only mmrpg that was in the list was one that will actually be free and have no monthly payment. what they will do is have expansions that will come out a little bit more frequently then other games.

the people that are making the game are from blizzard. the makers of warcraft, starcraft, diablo.

they said the game will be a little bit more skill based. that way you can group with higher level players and still serve a purpose.

from what i read the game sounded great. biggest part was the no monthly payment.

Coolness. I would definitely be down for a MMORPG with no monthly payment.

FFXI is a great game, a solid MMORPG...but I'm about to cancel my account.

I haven't played it much lately; time is an issue. And even worse, I find myself looking forward to World Of Warcraft this summer.

How much does all that cost? like $100? for the harddrive and game......

peleincubus : That sounds awesome! Man, that is the one thing I hate about consoles is the monthly fee to playonline.
