If you were Rudy, what 15 man roster would you implement assuming Steve, Mooch, Brown, Cat, Rice, Morris, Nachbar, K9, Griffin, Taylor, Ming, Cato, and Collier are already on the team?

    1. Keep Hawkins and Torres
    2. Keep Torres and Tito
    3. Keep Tito and Hawkins
    4. Keep Torres/Hawkins and send Tito to a developmental league
    5. Keep Torres, Hawkins, Tito and cut Brown

Sorry guys, I forgot to put other. I guess just reply "other" if that's what you wanted.

What ever way it works pout we dont need FOUR Point Guards. So one must go! Hawkins showed that he deserves to play an active role on the Rox. Hawkins and Torres are versatile enough to both be on the Final 15.

I say others. Tierre Brown has proven that he can hang with the big boys in the league whereas hawkins and tito are unproven. Maybe we should keep Brown and Torres or hawkins and send tito to the development league.

I would like to hold on to Tito, but place him in the developmental league until he "knocks the rust off." He his very talented, but lack of play over the last year or so has really hurt him. Maybe he will be better later in the season.
Right now I would have to go with Torres, Brown and Hawkins. They are the most polished players the Rockets have to choose from.

Somebody fill me in on this. Can the Rockets send a player to the developmental league and still retain all rights to him? Can you later in the year put him on the active roster? Can you send him back? (If so, it sorta works like a minor leaque in baseball or hockey).

I've heard of teams sending players to Europe to develop. I don't know exactly what is involved, but I assume it's just another contract.

sending Tito to a developmental league would be a waste of money. We already signed him, so I doubt he is going anywhere.

Keeping Brown is the assumption. Read the first post.

From what Tito has shown thus far, he is not even worthy of a NBADL position. I would keep Hawkins & Mickeal un the 15 man until you figure out which one has the ability to be a defensive stopper.

At Cinci Mickeal was a good defender, and Hawkins has pretty good size, so I would hold on and find out which (if either) can be a solid V-Max type defender. If so they make it, if not move on.

Sorry, this is my first poll. If you read my first response, you'll see that I figured Steve, Mooch, Brown, Cat, Rice, Morris, Nachbar, K9, Griffin, Taylor, Ming, Cato, and Collier would be on the team for sure.

It looks like everyone feels that Tito needs to develop more, then join the NBA.

They need to keep Torres, Hawkins and Brown - dump the chump Collier and wait to see about the health of Mooch, TMo and Kenny.

In previous years the Rockets would not sign their 2nd round pick to a contract yet retain his rights. Thus he could play in Europe for a year or two and try to make the team in the future. I think you can retain their rights for 2 years. I don't think Maddox would qualify for this since we already signed him.

From what I have seen Tierre can play. He deserves a spot, but may not get it since we have 3 PG's. Hawkins and Mickeal played pretty well in the preseason. I like Mickeal.

I think we have 14 spots out of 15 filled. Terrence will start on the injured reserve due to his ankle injury. Since we are down a SF I think the Rockets should keep Mickeal or Hawkins. I bet they take Hawkins. Oscar isn't a lock so the Rockets could drop him and keep Tierre and Hawkins. Who knows.

    PG:
    Steve
    Moochie
    Tito

    SG:
    Cuttino
    Oscar

    SF:
    Rice
    Boki
    T Mo

    PF:
    Mo T
    KT
    Griffin

    C:
    Ming
    Cato
    Collier

When are the final cuts due?

    1. Steve Francis
    2. Moochie Norris
    3. Teirre Brown
    4. Tito Maddox
    5. Cuttino Mobley
    6. Juaquin Hawkins
    7. Kenny Thomas
    8. Glen Rice
    9. Bostjan Nachbar
    10. Terence Morris
    11. Eddie Griffin
    12. Morrice Taylor
    13. Yao Ming
    14. Kelvin Cato
    15. Jason Collier

Italics indicate players starting the season on injured reserve. The guys starting the season on IR are obviously the guys that are hurt with the exception of Collier. With Yao Ming and Cato taking up the minutes at the 5 and Eddie also capable of playing there Collier is not really needed but he stays on IR just in case Cato gets traded, hurt or if Ming just needs extra time to adjust. I would think that both Maddox and Brown will see lots of time here with Collier as KT and TMo get healthy.

I believe the Rockets are impressed enough with Hawkins that they keep him and loose Oscar. They also like Tito’s ability to play both guard spots and play defense so this also makes Oscar expendable. Brown is just too good to let go. He is a potential trade victim at some point in the year but I think the Rockets want to keep him hanging around in case Tito does not work out.

Bold letters indicate the starters. I think Rice only starts because of Kenny’s injury. Unless Rice is able to roll back the clock a few years I believe the starting spot is KT’s the second he comes off of IR. Eddie will be one tired guy at the end of the first five games since MoT is serving his suspension and both KT and TMo are injured. I don’t think there will be any doubt as to where Eddie is in his development and if he is ready for full time starters minutes by the end of MoT’s suspension.

Boki also has a chance to get some significant playing time until KT or TMo come of IR. This could be a good opportunity.

Where's keep Brown and Hawkins on the poll?

Brown has played great, Tito often looks entirely lost. Brown definately deserves the job over Tito regardless of a partial guarantee. Otherwise why is Brown here if he had 'no' chance?

Oscar needs a ton of work. Send Tito to the development league, with regular play time for him again (which he won't get on the roster) he might become more familiar.

Yeah, I'd like to keep brown and torres. I dont think Hawkins and maddox should make the team. Especially Maddox. Man I was yelling so loud at him in the game sunday in the 4th quarter. He kept turning the damn ball over every trip up the floor in the last 2-3 minutes until brown finally saved us. Maddox turns the ball over to damn much. Did you see Rudy jumping up and down and flapping his arms when Maddox almost got the 8 sec violation near the end of the game. Man he is a decent player, but needs to work on handling the ball.

I think they signed Tito early just because they weren't sure if they could get Torres and/or Brown. They may end up keeping Torres/Brown/Hawkins with the injuries we've had...

I think Hawkins is too explosive to let go. He would be a real spark off the bench. Plus he already said that he's a role player. On a team full of starters, it would be nice to have someone who will just do his job and not complain about coming off the bench.
