Nah, I don't think so. It's different to me. Madden 11 sucked ass. Madden 10 was pretty awesome, madden 09 was alright. As far as 2K goes... 2K11 is prob one of the best sports games ever made with the amount of detail that went into that game. I definitely have it as the best basketball video game ever made.
Well, lately I've just been fed up with Madden. I did not get Madden this year, and instead, preordered Fifa 12...this will be my first Fifa purchase!
Madden 08 was good, in my opinion (but it was my first game on a Next Gen console, so whatever). Madden 09 pissed me off like no other game I've ever played. Madden 10 was the best one I've played yet. Madden 11 basically took Madden 10, **** on it, then sold it for $60. I rented Madden 12, and I'm not even going to buy it. First time since 2003 for me there. I've played a few FIFA games, and each of them were better than any Madden game I've gotten my hands on. With all of that being said, NBA 2k is easily my favorite sports series out there.
I've been hearing for 15 years how FIFA games are always top of the line at the head of the sports pack. I'm thinking it just must be easier to get soccer simulation onto a game over any of the BIG 3 U.S. sports.
Actually I very much agree with him on the NBA 2k front. I played the original game even... NBA2k0 if you will... it was pretty much the reason I bought a Dreamcast, so I've bought it basically every year for about 12 years. It improved every year through 2k9. 2k10 was a step back, and 2k11 is a small improvement on 2k10. But 2k9 was the last one that actually had responsive controls. Now the simplest animation seems to take hours to execute. I feel like I watch the game as much as I play it. It's awful. I thoroughly disagree with him that "Madden has never been anything but crap", though. Madden was a GREAT game that made big improvements every year... though 2005. Relative to the time, Madden 2005 was the best Madden ever. Then the competition went away, and it's been totally stagnant ever since. FIFA and NHL, on the other hand, are at all-time heights, and keep getting better. Used to be I spent all my time on NBA 2K and Madden. Now I spend all my time on FIFA with a little NHL mixed in.
