Billups and Smith are a combined 8-for-30 from the field and 1-for-12 behind the arc. Anthony and Afflalo are shooting poorly as well. Meanwhile, the Spurs are getting balanced and efficient scoring with 7 players in double figures.
LeBron is just out of this world ridiculous. Watched that one, for sure. Didn't catch much of SA/Denver and by the looks of things it sounds like I haven't been missing much.
Does anybody else get the feeling that Carmelo Anthony will never be part of a championship team? No matter how talented he is, I think that he's a flawed player, psychologically, to build a team around.
I don't think Melo will win a championship as the lead dog the way Kobe, LeBron and Wade can. Melo needs a stabilizer/leader like Chauncey on his team. If Chauncey brings his "A" throughout the playoffs and doesn't have a big dropoff as the rounds progress, the Nuggets can definitely win a championship. They also can't afford for Melo to fall off a cliff like he did against the Lakers last year. I would agree Melo is a "psychologically flawed" player and that keeps him from being on the level of the trio mentioned above. But he can win a championship as player 1B on a team. It wouldn't surprise me if he wins his first title as an older player after he declines a little and the expectations on him decrease.
