Injuries were disabled a little over a season back because of the crazy rate at which they were occuring. However, I know some wish there still were injuries in hte game, since that is more realistic. What do you guys think? Injuries or no injuries?
Well, I like having to use depth, but having star players hurt every week for an extended period was hardly realistic. Unless there is a method to slow the rate of injuries, I vote no injuries. It's honestly more unrealistic to have injuries happening at the rate they did than to have no injuries at all!
It's like The Cat said, if there is going to be millions of injuries then it shouldnt be turned on. If you can control the injuries in a way that they arent so excessive then i would say yeah.
It is not realistic to get the amount of injuries that the game produces? I guess the ongoing Rockets season never happened? It is far more unrealistic to never have injuries. I can promise you all that no injuries through a season never happens other than in this so called "sim". In all fairness to the "sim" - in the season we did have injuries turned on I had very few injuries. Depth should matter - as it is now my goal is to have 10 players... why the hell would I want more? So yes make this "sim" atleast a bit worthy - turn injuries back on.
At the old rate of injuries, 7-8 star players were going down with every sim! I don't think that ever happened on a weekly basis either, even in the current Rockets season. I would really like to have injuries, since they are more realistic, but I don't think it's fair to have it the way it was the first season. Durability really didn't even seem to play a factor; rather, it almost seemed like the injuries were completely random. In the NBA, it's extremely unlikely for Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant, Shaq, Dirk Nowitzki, etc. to come down with a major injury right before the playoffs, and miss the postseason. Even if they were hurting, it's likely that they would play through it. Here, it would be totally random, and I'm afraid the champion might win more off of being lucky with injuries than actually having the best team. This happens to an extent in real life, but for the most part, the stars are out there come playoff time. Perhaps there is a way to disable injuries for the playoffs alone?
Personally I'd prefer injuries off. If not for the regular season, at least for the playoffs. I wouldn't mind injuries on though, might be interesting.
Hmmmm. Combining the opinions of this thread so far, what would everyone think about injuries occuring throughout the regular season, and injuries being turned off when the playoffs begin? This would mean injuries that occured during the regular season that extend into the playoffs WOULD carry over, but no more injuries could occur during the playoffs. Just a thought.
Sounds like a good idea SF3...I am pretty much for injuries anyway, since I only had 2 injuries the first season with the maximum being two weeks. Who knows, maybe it was just a coincidence...anyway, no playoff injuries sounds good, since you rarely see injuries happen in the NBA playoffs anyway.
Now I know why I do not win. I dont have star players - the first season I think I had 2 injuries all season (max 3). I can live with that. Now I just have to get some stars, so they would get injured. (I also had Mo Taylor out all first season, but that was not the game that injured him so I havent counted him)
I was one of the major proponents against injusries(I had all three of my go to guys out at different times . All for over 2 weeks in the fist year) So I am still against them. If the computer was more random and the number of injuries was less then I would not have a problem with it. I have the demo of the game and everyday that I sim there are at least 5-6 injured players. And some of the injuries are stupid out 53 days for depression I mean come on. CK
Hmm...now that gives me an idea. A possibility is, when a player gets one of the dumber injuries, it could be removed, so that it is really like those injuries no longer exist. The ones I would remove (of the 56 diff injuries) would probably be: Sprained Knee Sprained Wrist (already have Broken Wrist) Dislocated Knee Concussion Pinched Nerve Kidney Disease Hernia Inflamed Appendix Bruised Cheekbone Fractured Cheekbone Broken Cheekbone Scratched Cornia Fractured Eye Socket Fractured Jaw Stiff Neck Dislocated Finger (already have Broken Finger) Fractured Hip (already have Broken and Bruised) Blurred Vision Severe Migranes (already have Migranes) Fractured Skull Broken Skull Bruised Jaw (already have Broken Jaw) Fractured Nose (already have Broken Nose) Fractured Leg (already have Broken Leg) Bulging Disc (already have Ruptured Disc) Fractured Arm (already have Broken Arm) Stress Fracture(foot) Torn Quad If those 28 were eliminated, injuries would be reduced by 50%. What would you guys think of that?
