rafer got destroyed b/c we played too much, and was so bad (missing open shots, tear drops...)

luther got A LOT of love when he was clutch during one reg. season. however, since the first jazz playoff series, he was never the same.

remember, tracy put up 29 and 13 in game 7 v. the jazz. and a lot of people on this board blame him for that loss.

Can't believe i left luther and swift off the list. I think rafer overshadowed luther in his time here, and swift was gone soon.

I can't believe the kind of hate tmac gets. If he shows up to the game he is a distraction, if doesn't show up he isn't supporting the team. If he scores then he is a ball stopper, if he he doesn't score he isn't trying. This kind of hate is just hilarious.

That is not whipping boy material. If someone says he has lost a step on on D or is missing open shots, that is part of constructive criticism. Statements like calling Luis "scrubola" or the number of things said about McGrady are whipping boy stuff.
Although, unfortunately Tracy has subjected himself to abuse because of his behavior.

Moochie lost all his skills when he got rid of the hair.

Luther for sure, he even got called lazy because of the expression on his face.

Thats what his face looks like dammit!

Rafer Alston drove me crazy with the shot selection. Absolutely terrible at some points.

The Luther bash was hysterical. From any dimension, I could not imagine a 10-minute 10th guy could deserve that much of criticism which was more like a cover for the failure of the main guys. cc.net is a joke most of the time.

    thanks!

what about a whipping:talent ratio? luther would be first in that category as well.

more talented players have more responsibility and receive more attention...rafer was a starter and tmac was a superstar. if things go wrong, as tmac put it "it's on me." for a scrub like luther be become a whipping boy at all is a special achievement.

    Rafer for sure.

Everyone blamed him even though he wasn't an elite guard and was expected to play like one.

Tmac, he's not the favorite whipping boy, he's everyone excuse boy cause people make so many excuses for his failures.

Tmac is getting paid like Kobe/LeBron and not playing like them.

Rafer is/was not getting paid like Chris paul or Steve Nash.

Depends on what you call a whipping boy. By your definition, Pippen certainly deserves a top spot. But a whipping boy would be the one who gets the criticism when he really doesn't deserve it. McFady deserves every bit of it.

    Rafer is probably the favorite.

KELVIN CATO WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK

His tenure with the team predates most of the members here, but that guy was ripe for the picking all the time

Reefer Alston and Juwon Howard. How JVG was supposed to win anything with these 2 as starters is still a dark-shrouded mystery.

Obviously, McGrady is everyone’s favorite whipping boy because he didn’t live up to everyone’s high expectations. No one thought that players like Matt Maloney or Cato were going to single-handedly take their team deep into the playoffs. Those players didn’t live up to their contract and were criticized, but with Tracy it is a whole different level of disappointment.

When the Rockets picked up McGrady they had just lost a first round playoff series. It was assumed that by picking up a scoring champion the team was going to a whole new level. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a lateral move. Also, you add Tracy’s salary, which makes up 30.5% of the whole team’s salary, which hinders any free agent activity. Then when you add all the drama on top of the disappointment, Tracy becomes the Rockets favorite whipping boy.

I’m am now done with the whip, anyone want to borrow it?

Boy this is sort of an understatement. Head shot so bad against Utah that I'm inclined to think any average 6'4 person off the street could have shot better. Brian Cook could've played better with those minutes. Luther was a weight tied to a team trying really hard to swim in that series. Arrrghghg....
