Geesh...this is getting hard! In season eight's "Lisa's Date With Destiny," Mr. Burns' office number is 555-0001. (We see this on homer's auto-dialer) I'm having a hard time locating his home number? Anybody else know? [This message has been edited by rascal (edited November 06, 2000).]
mrpaige: In that episode when Milhouse is being chased by the FBI, what is hilarious is Milhouse sees the FBI and says, "Oh, no! Not again!" ------------------ Save Our Rockets and Comets SaveOurRockets.com
And then later when Bart notes that he tipped the FBI off to the location of our friend Milhouse, they cut to Milhouse standing in the storm drain on the dam like in the Fugitive. That's such a great episode. Another funny part of that episode was when Lisa's Diarama got blown out the window: Lisa: Is it okay? Bart: The important thing is that we survived. (I find that funny, too) Not only does it have all that. It has the "I Bent My Wookie" line from Ralph. ------------------ Houston Sports Board The Anti-Bud Adams Page
Rascal... Congrats! That was the one. Wow! I couldn't have told you that episode. That is freaky! Good job. ------------------ I got nothing.
I love this thread, reading stuff about the Simpson’s absolutely floors me. How can those writers stay so fresh? The subtly of a lot of the humor is the funniest thing to me. 12 years and still the funniest show on tv, simply amazing. Any guesses as to how long they will go on? I would be pissed if they went off the air, but heck I enjoy watching the re-runs over and over as I do seeing the new ones. Bart: “Hey, Dad, can I have a sip of your beer?" Homer: “Now, son, you don't want to drink beer. That's for daddies and kids with fake IDs Homer: "Second class? What about Social Security, bus discounts, Medic-Alert jewelry, Gold Bond powder, pants all the way up to your armpits, and all those other senior perks? Oh, if you ask me, you old folks have it pretty sweet." Homer: "Maybe for once, someone will call me 'sir' without adding 'You're making a scene'." Homer: " I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to *speed* around a city, keeping it's *speed* over fifty, and if it's *speed* dropped, it would explode! I think it was called... 'The Bus that Couldn't Slow Down'." ------------------

That's a good one Moe, and I don't know the answer. Since no one has posted the complete answer (good call on 555-0001 number, Rascal), I will go ahead and answer. Mr. Burns's office number was revealed in the episode where Homer becomes Burns's assistant for several days. After Monty has become self reliant, someone calls him on the phone, with the wrong number, and Burns informs them that that number was _5246_. Hence making Burns's home number 555-0001 (thank you autodialer), and his work # 555-5246. I also have the # of Homer, Barney, and Moe's Tavern. "One moment your wife is cooking up your favorite meal, the next your thawing hot-dogs in a gas station sink." That was just about the best commentary on divorce I've ever heard. There's another great line from that episode, but I can't remember it right now. ------------------ RealGM Rockets Draft Obligations Summary http://www.gaffordstudios.cjb.net/
Juan: Other classic lines from that episode (A Milhouse Divided): "Can I have the keys to your car, lover? I want to go change wigs." Song - Can I borrow a feeling? Could you lend me a jar of love? Hurtin' hearts need some healing. Take my hand with your glove of love. Milhouse's mom is dating Pyro from an American Gladiators type show. He shows up and says, "Let's roll!" and they get in one of those giant balls and roll down the street. ------------------ Save Our Rockets and Comets SaveOurRockets.com
Actually, it appears that Mr. Burns has gotten a new phone number. In the season premiere, Homer is listening to the radio when the DJs decide to call a random number to give away The Who tickets. The number they call out, 555-0113, is Homer's number, but when he runs to the phone, you hear Mr. Burns answer the phone on the radio-"Ah Oy Oy". Looks like it changed with the new area code! ------------------ "He was under more balls than a midget hooker."-Bobby Hill visit www.swirve.com

Now I have to quibble on this one -- I was aware of both numbers you mentioned, however, the 555-0001 number is not his home number because it shows him picking up that call in his office. Since the 555-5246 was mentioned in season seven's "Homer the Smithers" and 555-0001 was shown in season eight's "Lisa's Date With Destiny," I went with the later one since it superceded the first. I declare this question a do-over!
