    Mine are:

    Beverly Hills Cop

This film virtually showed that police in films didn't have to be like Clint Eastwood or Charles Bronson were in past flicks and could actually be funny and serious in the same film. It also full of great quotes.

    Lethal Weapon 2

I like this film because Riggs finds out the truth about what happened to his wife and that he gets revenge on the people responsible. We also have the introduction of Pesci as Getz in the franchise.

    What are your's?

The first 3 "Dirty Harry's" (Dirty Harry, Magnum Force and The Enforcer) were excellent.

"The Gauntlet" sucked, but the the gauntlet scene in it was excellent.

    "Serpico"

    "The Untouchables"

    "Rush"

Is "Silence of the Lambs" a cop movie?

Don't forget Cop Land. It was cool.

(but Training Day would probably be my #1 all time cop movie)

Does The Killer count as a cop movie?

    Otherwise the original Swedish Insomnia

Infernal Affairs for those who haven't seen it is a great cop movie with a great twist on they typical undercover cop premise but following up on the good/bad movie ending IMO the ending really sucked and seemed tacked on.

Its a Hong Kong movie with limited distribution but if you like gritty cop movies this is a good one.
