LOL @ the youtube comment "we should've dropped this on Iraq"

I voted for Electronica and Hip Hop/Rap. Hell, why not mix both ?

Its ok, clicking "other" allows you to voice both your displeasure in the lack of more choices, and feel superior that your musical tastes cannot be lumped into some all-encompassing generic title.

I know I felt better after I chose "other".

I enjoy all kinds of music, but I like alternative the most.

That is very true, but I am afraid if I chose "other" I will be possibly confused with others who might have chosen Mexican trumpet music as their favorite musical genre.

So I think I will abstain from voicing my opinion in this poll.

I really enjoyed this as I do most world music. But I can't get over that the second voice was of a girl. Or was it?

I took World Music as an undergrad (part of my requirements as a Music Ed major) and it totally changed my perspective on world cultures in general and music in particular. I had a professor that really loved and appreciated eastern music and encouraged us to sample and analyze music that was challenging to the ear. This was just one of the styles that I grew to appreciate. Another was Balinese gamelan:

Though I must admit to preferring Javenese style more:
