I guess I'll be the one to say Old English 800. There used to be this 40oz called Cobra that was 99 cents in many Houston Stop n Go's. Not bad .....for 99 cents.
Olde English is a strong #2... behind MICKEY'S. Just what in the hell does the 800 stand for, anyway? I've sampled Cobra as well... they had quite a variety at Winn's food store near the UH campus back in the day. A true lifesaver for poor, underage college students for years.
Hippie, do you remember OE Special Reserve? It had wolf eyes on it and came in two flavors: strawberry and lemon/lime. Great use of $1.35. I haven't seen that stuff in a long time. Not that I've been looking to hard.......
Holy hell, I've never heard of it! FLAVORED malt liquor?! Is it still produced? I've long since outgrown foh-tays, but I can't shake the notion that they're perfect for getting nice and relaxed while watching tv alone on a leisurely evening. STRAWBERRY Old English. Holy God, man, I've got to get my hands on that... BTW, I'm NOT conceding Mickey's dominance. And WHERE can I get some Mickey's ICE?!
found this picture, see those two on the left hand side? thats OE Special Reserve. I hope its still in production as well.
Isn't malt liquor like brewed from the impurities left in a vat of beer.... Not that it matters...I do like my Mickey's for 1.29 each at Kroger...
Course for a real sneak up on you high octane drunk...nothing like Cisco....looked and tasted like a wine cooler...but was like 20% alcohol...some kids in Galveston died from it and I don't think i have seen it since.
That reminds me of another debate. You've got $3 in your pocket... what do you buy? A foh-tay.... or a MAD DOG 20/20?! The age-old question...
My favorite. St.Ides crooked letter. I remember Ice Cube use to do the commercials for it. You only heard them on the Boxx 97.9 back in the early 90's (91-92ish).
Are the qualites of 40 ozs actually any different? But to pick one, Mickey's. Anything else would be uncivilized.
...malt liquor sippin', comin' straight from the gutter... Hands down, Mickeys is the best 40. This is coming from a guy who drank 4 fourties one nite this summer. I had to do it, all my friends thought it was gross, but hell it got me throwed.
Not a 40, but I have been known to throw back a Steel Reserve or four. 8.1 percent, slow roasted ... the briscuit of beers.
I've tried plenty of 40's in my day, Olde English, Mickey's, Colt 45, Magnum, St. Ides, Schlitz, Laser(best stuff and only $1.19 each in Milwaukee) and I had given up my 40oz ways until 2 weeks ago when I bought GTA: San Andreas and decided to pick up one of these to get my drank on. OE HG(High Gravity) 800 I think they call it high gravity because of the huge dump you'll have to take in the morning. I bet no one can top this guy's 40 collection. MD always won that battle. I had some crazy....I mean CRAZY times when I drank that stuff.
God i had mad dog one time and that's the last time i had it...i remember being totally gone for that whole night...haven't touched it since.
