14 divided by 2 ... the "2" is for the second season?

I too was also wondering how the 2 factor fit into your equation and the only thing I could come up with was that the Rockets have 2 chances to win it all "SLIM and NONE!"

Of course never underestimate the heart of a champion. Oops wait a minute we fired our heart.

Yeah, maybe we can win the first round by a lucky bounce that lands our shooting guard a maximum contract for 6 years.

Allan Houston's agent parlayed that shot against Miami, which started a roll for the Knicks toward the NBA Finals, into one big, bad contract.

Anyway, Cat's not a free agent, and Steve already has his money.

I'll take fate, if we can get it. I don't know if my heart can take it. When the Rockets were in the playoffs, I would get so worked up. For example, Game 7 against the Suns, in Championship Year 2. I must have turned off the TV four times but kept coming back. My dad just laughed at me.

I appreciate your optimism but this year's Western Conference playoff lineup isn't the same the Eastern Conference lineup JVG faced in 99. Anyway once they ended up playing a Western COnference team they got swept. On top of that the switch to a 7 game first round makes an upset less likely.

Dividing by two gets you the average seed.

    One 6th seed.

    One 8th seed.

Averages out to a 7th seed.
