I got up to 140 mph in an Acura TL. It was late night on I-45, the roads were empty, and i was sober. Pretty freaking scary, felt like the car was coming off the ground........slowed down quickly after hitting 140.

I drove my 69 Mustang at 132, but I got a '93 Lotus Esprit up to 148 on the Sam Houston Tollway.

As a passenger I got up to 170 in Testorossa 512 on I-10...that was scary.

All of those speeds when I was in my 20s, and young and stupid.

I've never owned a car, and my the speed on my last two trucks has been governed, the Ford at 108 and the Chevy at 98. I've hit the governor on both. I did drive my cousin's 540 pretty fast, but I don't know how fast.

Motorcycle? We won't talk about that. Let's just say that when you get a torquey bike out on big sweepers, speed just kinda creeps up on you.

I don't think I've ever gotten up to 100. Maybe 95 tops. If that.

Indicated 180 or so on a 1984 Honda V65 Saber... probably about 155, 160 in reality.

That thing had way more motor than the tires, brakes, chassis, rider, could cash.

115 in a 1966 Mustang. That was scary because it was shaking like crazy. I didn't do it for long.

I rode a '74 Kawasaki 750 Triple like that. It would wheelie almost without warning and according to the owner would do 80 in 1st gear, but had the worst brakes on any bike I've ever ridden. It definitely had me scared.

@150 on my Katana back in the day. I would never do that again. The road stripes became solid at about 130 if I remember correctly.

I think I got at to least 110 in a 88 Mustang GT on Red Bluff in Pasadena.

I used to drive around my parent's old Areostar that had a digital speedometer that you could set to kph. I used to scare my friends by making them think we were going 100 mph when I was really only going 60.

Roughly 120 in a 1987 Mustang GT. But here is an interesting aside. I was gunning my 1966 Mustang on 610 on evening back in the 80's. We had her up to close to 100 before the back U Joint came off. Man, that was scary slowing down off of that. I've always wondered that had the front U joint fell off instead, my car might of been a nice pole vaulting vehicle.
