Basically me and a few friends are going to splashtown tomorow (wednesday).

We live near barkercypress on 290 and I was wondering the fastest way to get to Splashtown and the best way to avoid traffic.

Would taking 1960 until I45 be the best or would going on beltway 8 and taking I45 be the best? Or is there a faster way?

What time are you going? I wouldn't worry much about traffic if you plan to travel between 10am and 2pm.

Taking 1960 from 290 to 45 is going to take FOREVER at any time of the day. It just goes from bad to WTF! during heavy traffic times. Just remember: There is never a good time to use 1960 as a way to get anywhere put a place directly off of 1960.

    Take the beltway.

Why don't you take Spring-Cypress out there? I used to work in Spring while living in Cypress. It's an incredibly useful road....

According to maps.google.com 's directions, it is faster down 290, then 8, TAKE 45 and then exit LOUETTA.

 You can drag points here:

Or... go to maps.google.com and type in the origin and destination of the trip and click "get directions."

Oh, and hey..... pick up some coupons at the Wendy's near Splashtown. (I think that's the place that had the coupons; there was a previous thread about this somewhere).

Around the beltway is quick but from there I'd follow Meggo's directions and take Spring Cypress. Its the fastest way to go.

If the wendy's next door doesn't have coupons there is a hotel on the other side of the freeway and one exit closer to town that has a little pamphlet in the lobby with coupons in it.

Or Rudy's BBQ that's right (before) Splashtown, instead of Wendy's (after) Splashtown.

The only traffic problems would be on 290. Beltway 8 and 45N don't have that much traffic. 1960 is ridiculous.
