It has always been my opinion you don't take a date to the Family Reunion [or family function] unless you are serious and may marry them etc The Family Reunion is one of those 'milestone' type dates and is not one to be taken litely Am I wrong in this? Is it just like any other date? At what point in your dating life is your mate .. FAMILY FUNCTION WORTHY? Rocket River to me. . that is a big step
Easy solution, date a sister or a cousin. Sorry I don't have any real advice, I try to avoid family functions.

I completely agree, it is a big step. You're basically saying that this girl is worth everyone meeting her and trying to remember her name all day. Otherwise, you're just wasting everyone's time. You're Great Uncle who plays in the zydeco band and has shockingly jet black hair doesn't care about her and she doesn't care about your aunt who makes the best dirty rice on the planet. ...i miss family reunions.
no dates unless they're your serious significant other. Why force someone who isn't well on their way to being in your family to meet and get to know EVERYONE in the fam? Seems silly to me.
