I want to like it...I like post-apocalyptic stuff...but I'm skeptical because it's a January release....and there haven't been any reviews for it. Two big indicators the movie could very well suck.
I thought it was fallout 3. Until, they called it the Book of Eli. WTF. Just title the movie The Lone Wanderer and base the plot off Fallout 3.
So it looks like the book he is guarding is the bible. If that's the case, I'm disappointed. That would be super lame.
Wow, some of you guys need to read more or watch more tv and movies or play more games if the first thing that came to mind with the Book of Eli was Fallout 3.
I realize an apocalyptic wasteland isn't unique to fallout 3, but the colors, the washed out filters, the shots of the destroyed cars and the demolished highways are iconic of Fallout 3. It really, really resembles the game.
I've had Fallout 3 for a year or so, jsut hadn't really had time to play it. Started really finding some time here lately, just about the time my PS3 is starting to act up. I can only play for about 15 minutes before it locks up, adn I have to do a restart. Oh well, anyway...back on topic...I thought the same thing when I saw that trailer...it's so obvious I assumed other fans of the game would notice it immediately as well. Since I dont go to theaters anymore, Ill wait for DVD \BR of course.
The Road Book of ELI Here's a pic from A Boy And His Dog which was based on a book and of the major influences of Fallout:
Just got back from watching the movie and thought it was pretty good. Seems like they didn't try too hard through it all. There are a lot of post-apocalyptic movies out these days and this is one of the few I actually got into the world with. I'd be interested in seeing another story from their world. Oh and Mila Kunis is gorgeous.
I was thinking the exact same thing with the look of the movie. Don't think it will be as great as fallout but could be an alright movie
