Here's some upcoming movies I'm looking forward to:

Ocean's Eleven Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Matt Damon & Julia Roberts. Las Vegas-based crime drama remake. Dec. 7th Matt & Brad would make such a cute couple

The Royal Tenenbaums Luke & Owen Wilson, Gwyenth Paltrow, Ben Stiller, Gene Hackman & Bill Murray. This is Wes Anderson's follow-up to Rushmore. Dec. 25thShould be really funny

The Shipping News Kevin Spacey, Jullianne Moore, Cate Blanchet & Judi Dench. Adaptation of a pulitzer prize novel. Dec 25th I smell a bunch of Oscar nominations.

Shallow Hal Jack Black, Gwyneth Paltrow & Jason Alexander. The Farrelly Brothers latest. Nov 9th Jack Black as a womanizer???

The One Jet Li. Premise sounds like Highlander + Twin Dragons. Nov. 2nd. Hope it's better than Kiss of the Dragon

Bad Company Chris Rock & Anthony Hopkins. Should make an interesting odd coupling. Dec. Could be really good or really bad

Zoolander Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson & Will Ferrell. Wilson and Stiller play male models. Sept 28th. I think this could be a sleeper hit

Storytelling Directed by Todd Solondz. Oct. His 2 previous films were so incredibly twisted yet interesting

    Other fall films:

    Harry Potter
Lord of the Rings Elijah Wood & Ian McKellan
Vanilla Sky Tom Cruise & Penelope Cruz
Gangs of New York Leonardo DiCaprio & Cameron Diaz
    The Majestic Jim Carrey (drama).

The one I absolutely cannot wait to see is The Lord of the Rings.

From Hell and Rockstar also to be pretty good, IMO.

I know I'm forgetting quite a few and didn't even mention films from the stv market but anyways, here is my fall list. (though some are summer and winter releases)

Jeepers Creepers-Chud.com has been prepping this as one of the top movies of the year. I rarely disagree with them.

Lord of the Rings-Gandalf, 'nuff said.

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back-I'm already salivating over the dvd commentary on this one.

Ghosts of Mars-It doesn't matter what Carpenter does, I'll always watch his films.

From Hell-Depp and Jack the Ripper, I'll pay 8.50 for that.

K-Pax-I enjoyed the novel but would of had a different ending.

Ocean's Eleven-All star lineup of actors, although the original wasn't that swell.

The Majestic-I'm still the only person who thinks Carey can act.

Almost-We all get our jollies one way or another. ;)

outlaw, i see you read the same copy of entertainment weekly that i read!

some films NOT listed in the fall preview issue are

    Double Whammy(dir by Tom Dicillo)

starring Denis Leary, Liz Hurley, Steve Buscemi- a social parody about a cop that throws his back out and becomes the laughing stock of New York City

    Phone Booth(dir by Joel Schmacher)

starring Colin Farrell, Forest Whitaker, Katie Holmes, Radha Mitchell- an interseting concept, this film will take place in real time. the plot is based around a slimy publicist(Farrell) who gets trapped inside a New YOrk City phonebooth; on the other end of the line is a sniper who is aiming his rifle directly at him.
the rest of the film will actually take place in the phone booth-
lets see if schumacher can pull a Falling Down on this one and give us a real suspense/action/thriller

oh yeah, go see hedwig and the angry inch

    Zoolander
    Training Day
    Shallow Hal
    Ali

The best single shot real time movie of all time is Alfred Hitchcock's "Rope". The designed this amazingly elaborate set with a spiral staircase cut in half so they could follow people up and down it in single shots without getting wires tangled. Imagine a single shot film in the 50's and 60's when the cameras were GIGANTIC. That's just amazing.
