cell phone? never! I was recently placed in a situation where I was told I could lose my job if I didn't buy a cell phone for myself. I stood my ground and still don't have one. Stupid? Maybe. But there are principalities in this. I'd like to use the truck as intimidation to get the drivers of sensibly-sized cars out of my way while flying down the left lane. right now, my car doesn't provide me with that ability.
I know that Mrpaige (sorry I forgot to get you my cousin's info, see below for his response to your problem) won't agree with me, but I'd look at the Armada. I've been driving the one I got from the sponsor of my radio show, a Nissan dealership in GA. It has more h/p than either the Tahoe or Expedition, more towing capacity and to me, it has a more daring look. But if I was going to pick between the two, I'd pick the Tahoe. Something about Expeditions has never rubbed me the right way. Mrpaige: Sorry I didn't get back to you about my cousin. I talked to him and he told me to tell you that your situation is pretty unique in his experience since it seems both the dealership and the company are giving you the runaround. He said that you need to be the squeakiest wheel to kick the bureaucracy into gear, but that there were several other parts for other cars that the company hardly ordered from Japan.
Why not get yourself a new Ford F-150 SuperCrew? It's big enough to satisfy your need to have something big, and it's manly. Plus having a truck always comes in handy. It has four doors, beautiful interior, and you'd be surprised at how smooth it rides. You'd be doing yourself a favor to test drive one.
As a truck driver, I can tell you that this isn't always the case. There are just some dense drivers out there. However, there are LOTS of times you get the right of way when they see you barreling down the road.
I don't think a pick-up would be right for me. I have no need for an exposed bed. The only kinds of things I would ever be hauling are people and electronics (TVs, computers, stereos, etc.) to help family and friends move. Plus, when I finally break down and buy that Samsung 50" DLP, I won't have to pay for movers!
In the end, it didn't matter since they did finally find the part I needed at about the time I was emailing you. I got the car back on Thursday, and I've only had to take it back twice since then (they didn't hook the speedometer back up when I picked it up, and, for some reason, a fuse needed to be replaced for the A/C compressor). I don't know how unique my situation was. The Altima message board I looked at seemed pretty full of people who had long waits for parts. Sometimes longer than mine. But Audi was still the worst, by far. Not to derail the thread too much, but it turned out that the problem with my car was supposed to be fixed through a recall before it blew the transmission out. But since they didn't inform me of the recall, I didn't know it existed until it was too late.
my mom just got in sequoia about a year - year & 1/2 ago. she really likes it. looks good, nice interior, pretty big. she liked it more than the tahoe, navigator, and escalade, but that's because she really trusts toyotas moreso than the other manufacturers.
I'm happy you've got your car back and everything is resolved. When we did the radio show from the Nissan place, everybody liked the bumper sticker I put on the back window of the Armada. In a homage to Space Balls, it says "We Brake for Nobody." I think it if it turns out to be reliable, I'm going to take them up on the offer to purchase the beast. I've already gone down to FL to get some parts for the Trans AM I'm working on. I hate to derail the thread further, but check out the Mustang GT-R. Nice!
When I was waiting to get the speedometer hooked up, they pulled one of those Armadas up. It was apparently just finished being detailed for a new buyer. Those things just look so huge and tank like. I don't know how their size compares to the Expedition or Tahoe, but they look really big. I don't think I could drive anything like that, but I'd sure get out of the way if it was bearing down on me. Personally, I would think that even with my problems, well over 90% of Nissan buyers wouldn't experience the same problems. Heck, if I had thought to keep up on the recalls on my own, I probably wouldn't have had the severity of the problem that I had. I really can't wait to see a new Mustang in person. I don't think I'd buy one myself, but who knows. I'm in love with the Chysler Crossfire, though (and the Chrysler 300C is a heck of a sedan, judging by the pictures I've seen anyway. I've not seen one in real life yet).
If your 'Stang is a GT I'll just trade you my 2002 Mercury Mountaineer for it! I just turned twenty (today) and have had three cars in my life. 1999 Cavalier, 2001 Camaro, and a 2002 Mountaineer. The only car I ever wanted was the Cavalier (because I just wanted any car when I was turning 16) and hated the Camaro. The only reason I have the Mountaineer is because my dad got married and his wife wanted a new car, but they owed a lot on the Mountaineer so my dad asked me if I wanted it instead of the Camaro. Due to the fact that the Camaro would bottom out everytime you went over an ant hill, I took the Mountaineer. From my experience, (and I went from a similar style car as yours) bigger SUVs are a waste of money both with the initial purchase and gas while also being impractical unless you haul a bunch of crap and/or people around. The only time I've ever been glad to have the Mountaineer is when I've been moving. Going from a sports car, I think you'll probably like the SUV at first, but after about 6 months of dropping 40+ bucks to fill it up to only need to fill it up a week later will get really old. SUVs can be fun and give off that whole image that you have $$$, but is that really important? To be honest, I would do anything to get back into a car like a Cavalier or Civic right now. While that isn't what I'm recommending for you, maybe you should at least look into a smaller SUV if that's what you reall want.

I'm going to derail your thread and I don't care. Damn, is that the one Circuit City has but in a 43" size (they may have a 50" too)? If so, that's the one I'm going to probably get in a few months (unless something better comes out). The picture on the 43" version blew me away.
Yup, that's the one. CC had the 50" on sale a month ago for $3199!!!!! I was oh so close to buying it!!!!
Well, you know what they say about guys who need big SUVs and big TVs, right? Let's just say they usually have small feet.
I'm looking as well, and those are my choices...What's the price difference between them...Have you gone to any dealerships and priced yet? Let me konw... I've had a Tahoe before (late 99) and loved it...My father in law has an Expedition and drove it and it was pretty good as well...Myself, I'll probably pick the cheaper of the two...
