You chose to work in the bar didn't you. If I chose to be a mechanic I couldn't very well complain about grease under my nails.

    Wow. Just wow.

I come up with an, albeit unpopular, response. I show y'all my reasonings, and come up with my opinions due to that.

And you guys come back with uneducated stuff like "idiot" and "moron" etc.

Y'all do know that you don't "have" to believe the stuff that propaganda folks shove down your throat, don't you?

By the way, I don't drink and drive. Not because I think I'll kill people. Just because I don't want to go to jail. That is why I think it has been blown out of proportion. I personally think that a person who blows a .08 is no more dangerous on the road than a teenager or a woman on a cell phone.

And Mulder, I'm sorry you have decreased lung capacity, but for your "doctor" to tell you that it is from your days of bartending is ludicrous. He simply doesn't know. It could be any number of factors.

For example, I lived in Baytown from 1977 to 1984. I grew up with bloody noses all the time. I figured it was just me.

Then we moved away. No more bloody noses. Turns out that living close to refineries was unhealthy. BUT, I can't be positive of that. It is just my hunch.

According to y'all, I guess I should file a suit against refineries because my nose bled when I was a kid.

    Why don't I do that?

Because I am an adult who doesn't whine and cry and fuss about every little piece of crap thing that goes on in this world.

We live in the greatest country in the world, and all of you whiners are still not satisfied. Don't like it? Move.

Life could be a lot worse, you know.

Midtown, formerly known as 4th Ward :). Man, if I would of just bought that land 7 years ago.

What can go wrong... will go wrong! I have my liquor license in my hand but no bar (literally). I started this process in Feb of 03. Finally signed the lease in May 04. We are trying to offer premium VIP service. You know... bottle service, booths that seat 6-8 people, multiple restrooms, a patio with a view...

Hopefully you'll get it really soon. It must drive you insane waiting and waiting for something that you've already waiting well over a year for. I'm sure everything will turn out great. I wish I had the devotion and motivation to do something like that. Good luck to you.

Ya I chose to work there because it was very good money, the hours were late at night so it allowed me to go to school during the day. I didn't think I would risk my health doing so...

My doctor does know and I would bet he knows a hellofa lot more than you about it.

As for the refineries, if you sat next to one in a restaurant and they could turn it off, wouldn't you ask them to?

Good point Mulder. I don't think this was ever about asking someone to put it out, I think it was just that some people feel it is rude and disrespectful to "light up" when there are others around, especially when they have nowhere else to go at the time.

    *sigh*

how, exactly, does your Doctor "know"? You doggone well know that he can't with certainty know what caused it and why it happened. Push him on how he "knows". I know I would.

As for refineries, your logic is flawed. If you sit in the smoking section in a restaurant, it would be rude on your part to ask someone to move. Instead, you should move.

Then apparently you complain to everybody loudly, and pretty soon you get to sit in the smoking section of the restaurant which is now non-smoking because the restaurant always listens to the vocal whiners.

Thats why I'm speaking my mind. Someone on this side needs to speak out against all of the whiners and say enough is enough.

According to your refinery in a restaurant idea, what I would do is move away. What you would do is complain enough so someone would destroy it. But then there wouldn't be anyone to refine oil, so that doesn't work, does it?

We're getting off topic. Lets just agree to disagree.......

    If you can.

And BTW, I'm not arguing just to argue. If there isn't a smoking section in a restaurant, I go outside. If I'm at a friends house, and they don't smoke, I go outside. I smoke outside my house because I have a five year old son. So do my parents.

But if I'm in one of the few smoking sections of a restaurant/bar, and someone asks me to put it out, or gives me a dirty look, I will say "I'm not putting it out", and continue smoking. To me, it is you (the person asking me to put it out) that is being rude.

So somehow this went from something we can't stand to whether or not second hand smoke is bad for you. Sometimes I don't understand.

There will be no smoking at my club on Sundays. (Thanks for the JJ, if you're reading this) Smokers can smoke on the patio. I think there is a market out there for it so, we're going to try it. By the way, we will be playing 80's music on that night. If you are still listening to those artists that were around in the 80's, chances are we will be playing it on Sunday.

By the way, we finally got our permits today!!!!

Congrats!! Glad it worked out for you, sorry I couldn't help you more. Let me know when it's done and I'll bring a big group the first night. If it's going to be non smoking on Sunday then you can expect me to be there every available oppurtunity.
