Franchise - regarding losses/aqusitions. Players that played games for you last season I do not consider as an aqusition. Same way for losses (although I do not know ou have any of these), players that never played for you last season is not regarded as losses even if you traded for them and shipped them on. (This way I never had Antonio McDyess as a loss for the Knicks as he never played a game for them) I guess I can put up a player as a loss if he played very few games for you at the end of the season, but for most I would keep thse players out as they was apart of the old season and your old record. I also see Danny Fortson as an addition for Lakers - at first I thought he didnt belong there as he played for Lakers last season, but then I remember that was only for the playoffs so I guess he really is an addition. ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage
Minnesota Timberwolves Losses-Michael Dickerson, Michael Olowakandi, William Avery Additions-Omar Jeffers, Jason Collins, Arvydas Sabonis, Quentin Richardson ------------------ The title will come to ClutchCity once again. [This message has been edited by vj23k (edited July 17, 2001).]
Ok, time for some western evaluation. 14. Golden State Warriors 6-76 Tied for the worst record last season but Moestavern wasnt in this league to start improving as early as franchise's Nuggets. He will have to trust that some of the of the moves former GM JDZAU did was not all bad. In a move to start improving right away he traded away next seasons first rounder for Gatling and McCoy, so there better be some improvement as a top pick should be worth more than that. Roster: C - Jelani McCoy* / Adam Keefe PF - Pig Miller / C.Porter/ SF - Dan Langhi / Chris Gatling* /McCloud SG - Gerald Wallace / Paul McPherson PG - Jamaal Tinsley / M. Blaylock IR - Corie Blount Losses: Adonal Foyle Chris Mullin Acqusitions: Jelani McCoy Chris Gatling George McCloud Jamaal Tinsley Gerald Wallace Eddie House? Ricky Davis? 13. Denver Nuggets 6-76 Franchise have completly revamped his team through drafts and trades and should be vastly improved this season. Roster: C--Davis/Boumtje/N'Diaye PF--O'Neal/Horry/Moiso/Boumtje SF--Mason/J.Johnson/Horry SG--Sprewell/Johnson/Buford PG--Norris/Cook IR-- T.Davis, W. McCarthy, S. Burrell, Hudson Losses: Antonio Daniels Eddie Robinson John Amaechi Ryan Bowen Anthony Goldwire Acqusitions: Latrell Sprewell Antonio Davis Rodney Buford Robert Horry Scott Burrell Jerome Moiso Walter McCarthy Jermaine O'Neal Joe Johnson Omar Cook R. Boumtje-Boumtje ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage
12. Phoenix Suns 9-73 Suns also have a complete new team after a couple of trades and the draft thats should secure a few more wins in the new season. But they still have a way to go before they can challenge for a playoff spot. Roster: PG - Tim Hardway/Avery Johnson/Tony Parker SG - Kendall Gill/Dan Majerle/Vinny Del Negro SF - Glen Rice/Michael Curry/David Wingate PF - Joe Smith/Charles Oakley/Samaki Walker C - Eddy Curry/Iakovos Tsakalidis/Michael Stewart Losses: Mario Elie Rodney Rogers Chris Dudley Elliot Perry Dan Santiago Acqusitions: Tim Hardaway Kendall Gill Glen Rice Joe Smith Eddy Curry Charles Oakley Samaki Walker Michael Curry Dan Majerle Avery Johnson Tony Parker 11. Los Angeles Clippers 29-53 Los Angeles Clippers did a nice job turning the franchise over in SirCharlesFan first season as the GM. This season he tries to continue to build by trading in up and coming surprise pointguard for more depth and proven players in Penny Hardaway and Eric Snow. Last season Clippers found themself 19 games out of the playoffs. This time around they could be a lot closer. Roster: Erick Dampier/John Amaechi/Jason Collier Theo Ratliff/Kurt Thomas/Sean Rooks Shandon Anderson/Corliss Williamson/Tim James Penny Hardaway/Tariq Abdul Wahad/E Piatkowski Eric Snow/Jeff McInnis Losses: Kelvin Cato Kenyon Martin Stephen Jackson Quentin Richardson Keyon Dooling Acqusitions: John Amaechi Theo Ratliff Kurt Thomas Penny Hardaway Eric Snow ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage
10. Vancouver Grizzlies 48-34 Nomar have found himself just on the outside looking in the last two seasons. Can the fact that he added the number one rookie after he traded away some depth finally land him a spot in the playoff? That remains to be seen, and a lot depends on how good Griffin can play his first year. I think it is too soon to expect Griffin to be the reason Grizzlies clinch a playoff spot. Roster: Projected lineup: C-Camby/KG PF-KG/Camby/EG SF-EG SG-Stack PG-MJ Losses: Antonio Davis Danny Fortson Brian Grant Latrell Sprewell Dirk Nowitzki Brevin Knight Acqusitions: Marcus Camby Jerry Stackhouse Mark Jackson Eddie Griffin Shammond Williams Corey Benjamin 9. Seattle Supersonics 48-34 Raven ans his Sonics ended the season better than all, but was to far behind nail a spot in the playoffs. This season they traded for up and coming point Keyon Dooling an lost some depth. If not that trade backfires Sonics should find themself in the playoffs this season. Roster: _C - Steven Hunter/Kelvin Cato PF - Keith Van Horn/Tom Gugliotta SF - Allan Houston/Tom Gugliotta/Bryon Russel SG - Eddie Jones/Bryon Russel/Calbert Cheaney PG - Keyon Dooling/Charlie Ward/Calbert Cheaney Losses: Penny Hardaway Eric Snow Chris Gatling Jelani McCoy Kevin Willis Tim Hardaway Acqusitions: Keyon Dooling Charlie Ward Calbert Cheaney Otis Thorpe Steven Hunter Keith Van Horn Kelvin Cato Tom Gugliotta ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage
8. Sacramento Kings 50-32 Kings climbed up one spot to earn a playoff spot last season. Can they improve and remain a playoff team, or will they have to watch up for Sonics coming up from behind. Roster: C-Marc Jackson/Scot Pollard/Aaron Williams Pf-Chris Webber/Aaron Williams/Ousmane Cisse Sf-Peja Stojakovic/Juwan Howard/Deshawn Stevenson Sg-Cuttino Mobley/Deshawn Stevenson/Gilbert Arenas Pg-Lamar Odom/Chucky Atkins/Gilbert Arenas Losses: Derek Anderson Doug Christie Kerry Kittles Darrick Martin Acqusitions: Ousmanne Cisse Gilbert Arenas 7. Houston Rockets 52-30 Are The Cat guiding his Rockets into the same problems that faced Grizzlies and Raptors last season. Having only 9 players currently at the roster it does look scary. Cat reasures everybody that his 9 is better suited for a short roster than Grizz and Raps were, but only time will tell. Roster: C-- Vlade Divac PF- Dirk Nowitzki SF- Shane Battier SG- Vince Carter PG- Steve Francis C-- Stephen Hunter SF- Bryon Russel SG/SF- Courtney Alexander PG- Derek Fisher PF/C- Michael Bradley Losses: Allen Iverson Jerome Williams Bryant Stith Charlie Ward Elden Campbell Hidayet Turkoglu Joe Smith Matt Geiger Acqusitions: Dirk Nowitzki Shane Battier Courtney Alexander Derek Fisher Michael Bradley Bryon Russell Stephen Hunter ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage
6. Los Angeles Lakers 50-32 Lakers have some of the best in Shaqille O'Neal and Kobe, but could never go anywhere in the west as they did not have the depth. Then they added Danny Fortson with hopes that he would improve the team enough for some success. That didnt help in last seasons playoff, but with time to settle in fadeaway might improve his chances. Roster: C - Shaqille O'Neal / Bo Outlaw PF - Danny Fortson / Bo Outlaw SF - Larry Johnson / Rick Fox / Carlos Rogers SG - Kobe Bryant / Ron Harper / Tracy Murray PG - Nick Van Exel / Jason Williams Losses: Glen Rice Horace Grant Derek Fisher Robert Horry Acqusitions: Danny Fortson Larry Johnson Tracy Murray Carlos Rogers 5. Utah Jazz 59-23 The aging Jazz has got to be over the hill now. Hey wait a minute, they have completly changed the outlook and can field a team full of rookies. To support the young ones they have super-veteran Patrick Ewing and all star Grant Hill. It remains to be seen if this new mix can take Jazz to the next level or if it is too soon to expect much from all the rookies. Roster: Diop/Ewing/Eze Coleman/Harrington Hill/Radman/Kukoc/Bullard Starks/Moon/Hoiberg Wesley/Anderson/Satterfield/Anthony Losses: Shawn Bradley Mark Jackson Greg Ostertag Antonio McDyess Rashard Lewis Danny Manning Acqusitions: Grant Hill DeSagana Diop Vladimir Radmanovic David Wesley Patrick Ewing Jamario Moon Benjamin Eze Kenny Satterfield Greg Anthony ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage
4. Minnesota Wolves 64-18 wolves are pretty much the same team as last season without the changes from the draft. Lossing Dickerson will hurt, but when you had a god record you always will lose more in drafts then you get in. Wolves should still be a force in the west. Roster: C-Sabonis/Collins/ PF-Brand/Ellis/Patterson SF-Rahim/Thomas SG-Peterson/Richardson/Jeffers PG-Brandon/Jacobsen IR:Garrett, Nesterovic, Mitchell Losses: Michael Dickerson Michael Olowokandi William Avery Acqusitions: Omar Jeffers Jason Collins Arvydas Sabonis Quentin Richardson 3. San Antonio Spurs 68-14 Spurs had a very good season last year, but as they didnt have any high pick dc rock didnt want to trust that what was left for him would be good enough to continue improving their chances at a championship. Duncan was shipped out and dc started to build a completly new team. He got a lot of talent and depth from trading Duncan, what remains to be seen if he got anybody to stop other big men in the west now. Roster: PF:Rodney Rogers/Alan Henderson/Gregor F-ucka SF:Glenn Robinson/Clarence Weatherspoon/Danny Ferry C avid Robinson/Malik Rose/Jason Caffey SG:Ray Allen/Rod Strickland/Steve Kerr PG:Jalen Rose/Travis Best/Lindsey Hunter Losses: Tim Duncan J.R.
