I've always used an ethernet cable to connect my cable modem. But recently a friend said using a USB cable is better and faster. Is it actually worth my trouble to switch? Or is an ethernet cable good enough already? Thanks.

Your friend doesn't know what he is talking about. I am in I/S. Stick with the ethernet.

In all reality they should be the same when just being used for the internet. No residential internet connection is going to max out USB2.0 or a 10/100 ethernet connection.

I personally use ethernet, but i run a network. I have had friends use USB and like it more. When i worked at Time Warner all of the techs that did installs would use USB because they had the drivers for them, and didnt have to worry about NIC drivers.
