does anyone have ESPN in? you can't read it unless you do. I'm really intertested to see what it looks like. If anyone here has access to that can you post it here so everyone can see?
I don't think this is what you are looking for but it is a mock of the lottery picks by Chad Ford http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/lottery2005/mockdraft 1 Andrew Bogut 2 Marvin Williams 3 Chris Paul 4 Deron Williams 5 Martynas Andriuskevicius 6 Fran Vazquez 7 Gereld Green 8 Chris Taft 9 Danny Granger 10 Raymond Felton 11 Tiago Splitter 12 Antoine Wright 13 Martell Webster 14 Hakim Warrick
This is going to be a very interesting draft. Players like Warrick can go lottery or fall all the way down to the mid-20's. There are also a lot of skilled big-men coming over from Europe and a lot of them will be 1st rounders, I think everyone is looking for the next Dirk of Pau.
Why did Sean May go pro? This is the second draft forecast that I've seen with him falling out of the lottery? This is his high point? Well, his dad didn't do much as a pro either...
i was going to say, am i that out of the loop? i don't know 5 of the names on that list and, even though i know the name, i couldn't pick chris taft out of a lineup of yao ming, george bush, and chris taft. as for may, how could his stock ever get higher? he just won the ncaa championship and was easily the most dominant player on the team. considering he's not a beast of an athlete, i don't see how it's ever going to get better for him.
I have been swinging like a pendulum lately.......but my choice of players ("gettable") I would not mind to have in descending order is 1. Jarret Jack (gettable but we might have to trade up) 2. Joey Graham (Will be a solid pro for us for at least 10 years if he falls imho) 3. Ike Diogu 4. Wayne Simien 5. Kenedy Winston (if he falls) Other notables include Roe-nny Turiaf (solid pro in the making ....no freels), Hakim Warrick (if he falls), Rudy fernandez (if he falls), Andre Blatche (might as well draft a legit prospect) and maybe Garcia. I will pee on myself if we can land Travis Diener as an undrafted FA. I will like to add folks like Deng Gai, Bracey Wright, Azubuike as undrafted FAs if they go that route. I hope we have first consideration for Travis Diener though. He is a steal waiting to happen (all things put into proper perspective) and I cannot imagine he would go undrafted. PS. I would also love to add Jay Williams if the doctors clear him to play in the 2005/06 season. He has prime NBA PG talent and could considered a great hardship "draft" pickup this off season considering his layoff and the rust.
Funny you should mention Diener... I go to Marquette, so I see him plenty. I'm certainly biased, but I'd be looking at him early 2nd round, maybe even late 1st. You got the injury question, but you also got a guy who is tenacious, is used to leading a team, and can really hit the long ball. And for all that criticism he got for being to frail, he added something approaching 15 pounds of muscle last season. And that's not hearsay, I saw it. ...on a semi-related note, Steve Novak kinda reminds me of Matt Bullard... 46% from beyond the arc, 6-10, 220. Just a thought.
Green is amazing already. Did you see the McDonalds All-American game? This guy was stroking 3's from NBA range like it was nothing. Everyone knows about his athleticism, I really like his game. A TMac comparison is right on the money.
Green going to the Raptors at #7 is very unlikely! from what i saw from this kid is sick....has Mcgrady or BETTER written all over him.
Portland would be foolish to past this guy at #3. Other than Bogut and Williams, Green is the only other player in this draft that could make some noise and put fans in the seats. He really is the "next" TMac. He has all the tools needed and I think he has a better shot than TMac when he first came in the league.
I don't understand why this is the case?? He could also turn out to suck. He doesn't come across as someone to me who will be fantastic in year 1. He doesn't have Lebron's NBA body yet.
Antoine Wright is a much better player than Green right now. Green has more upside than Wright. It may take two or three years before Green starts to show his skills, but Wright already has those skills. I would take Wright before I'd take Green.
he should be like, i'm not signing w/ any team besides the Houston Rockets.... =P ....wouldn't that be nice.....*wishful thinking*
He could very well turn out to suck, but this kid is pretty damn good. He might not have a fantastic year 1, but a lot of player don't. TMac wasn't very good his first couple seasons and really came into his own when he left Toronto. Green is a better shooter than TMac did when he came in. I say the next "tmac" because they are the same type of player w/ same type of build.
Two basic reasons, in order: 1. He found out that Williams and Felton were leaving, giving UNC little chance to return to the Final Four. 2. He thought about his draft prospects this year versus next. And coming off a title more than likely will land him a better place than another year of playing will. Evan
