why is it so cheap...I saw a commercial last night with TO and it said, $20...I'm all over that...Anyway, I think Sega's 2K sports series are far more superior than anything out there...

    So far this game is A W E S O M E.

The new moves are a little hard to get used to, but well worth it when you can pull it off.

this is probably the best thing about the game:

"Probably the coolest innovation ESPN NFL 2K5 has to offer is the VIP system. Here's how it works. As you play with a given profile, the computer keeps track of the exact way you play: how often and where you run, what defender you select before the snap, where you tend to move your players to, the packages you use, and so on. Once the CPU has profiled you, your VIP can be used by others to practice playing against you. It's an ingenious system, and it really works. After playing against Hilary in the office, I played his ghosty in VIP, and it was uncanny how similarly the two approached the game. What's cool about it is that often it's more difficult to beat your buddies than it is to trash the computer AI. In this way, VIP actually makes the game's AI more complex and diverse, something no other game on the market can boast. "

Got it at Gamestop today. Awesome...looks like a real game. Very impressed.

I can't wait til I get to college for the broadband and play this game online.

Got the game today, and for those of you out there that are still on the fence

    GET THE GAME.

I have always been a die hard Madden fan...I've bought every Madden game that's been on the market. Obviously it's tough to compare the two this season, because MAdden won't be out until 8/9, but it's going to have to be pretty damn good to compete with ESPN this year.

Graphically, this game is amazing. I am playing the XBOX version, and when you watch the replays it's uncanny how good the graphics are. The only thing I don't like about it is the commentary....Sega needs to fire those two freaks and get some new blood in there. It's the same two fools from the Dreamcast version!

Haven't started the franchise mode yet, but I'm headed there now.

Bottom line, you can't afford NOT to try this game.

It's only $20 so I think its well worth it and all the review sites are giving it high marks, I hope I can pick it up tommorow. I saw some videos and it looks amazing and fluid, the VIP system is ingenious!

Hmm... it's pretty good from what i've played. The physics and A.I are SO DIFFERENT from Madden that I'm still a bit weirded out. I've been buying Madden every year since 1997, after all. But yeah, I'd say it's definately worth a look. I especially like all the moves you can pull on the defensive line.

Oh, and btw, do the ratings for some players seem really random to anyone else? How, for example, is Jamal Lewis's strength 51?

We should get on this. If I am understanding correctly, you can do League/Tournament play on XBOX Live with this. Meaning you can actually start a season and run with it with everyone who claims their team.

If anyone is interested, I'd love to give this a shot.

This is a fair game I rented it 2 days ago because I was a little weary of this game.

    PROS:
1.Great graphics- The best I have seen in a football game ever.
The cut scenes are very nice and well timed.

    CONS:
    1. Franchise mode sucks a duck- Really terrible, thats all i have to say except for the weekly preparation this is one of the worst franchise modes I've seen yet.

I know I didn't give a lot of pros or cons for the game but I gave the examples of what is good and wrong with this game. Replay value is not very good for me because I love franchise mode.

This game has Madden in graphics but no where else, except maybe the custom soundtracks.:)

    7.4 out of 10

This worried me, so I tried to read some reviews on the Internet to get some more info on how bad it was, but no one else really had any problems with it. In fact, most said this is the best FB game ever, and Madden definitly has competition. Could you elaborate since I know some people just care on graphics, online play, etc. I usually really like the franchise modes so if it is terrible, I may be more weary, although probabaly not much considering the price.

I've been thinking whether or not I should get this game or not. I know that it is great, by the reviews both here and elsewhere, and for the price, it's practically free, but at the moment, I'm not very interested in football, much less a football game. Also, I do know a little of what to expect. I really played a lot of ESPN football in the past, except for last year's version. (sound kind of funny actually, seeing as how that was technically the 1st espn football). I thought it was pretty good and liked it a little better than Madden at the time. Of course, that was during the uncatchable running back time period. I just thought that was an awesome runner. :D

Eh...I may just wait a few weeks and get it somewhere for cheaper than $20. ;)

I have it on my TiVO, but I haven't watched it yet.

My friends tell me there is no way I could hang with this guy, and that he's annoying for providing supplementary information about questions asked on the show (something I'm notorious for doing amongst my friends).

They think he's fed the answers by ESPN, but I just tell them to stop drinking Haterade.

Can't wait to watch last week's episode and tonight's episode back-to-back after work.
