Why did this happen? Michael Irvin out as analyst at ESPN He wasn't overly boring.. and he wasn't overly great... BUT... Why would they dump him 2 weeks after he's in the HOF? Did his individuality intimidate the "suits?"
I heard it had something to do with Stephen A. Smith, Jim Rome and a love child. I dunno. Sounds a little like a reach, though.
because he sucks as an analyst. now they need to can ditka. The next time he says anything insightful will be the first time.
This is great news! I avoided watching ESPN Gameday because od Michael Irvin. He is a loud-mouthed, laugh at my own joke, junkie.
TO could murder someone and Irvin would still rationalize it. Cue video of the rest of the analysts rolling their eyes every single show.
I wonder how much this is a direct result of his comments about Tony Romo having some "brother" in him on Dan Patrick's show : He doesn't look like he's that type of an athlete," Irvin said of Romo. "But he is. He is, man. I don't know if some brother down in that line somewhere, I don't know who saw what or where, his great-great-great-great-grandma ran over in the 'hood or something went down. If great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandma pulled one of them studs up out of the barn, 'Come on in here for a second,' you know, and they go out and work in the yard. You know, back in the day.
Can they get rid of Sean Salisbury, too? He makes me want to jab meat hooks in the side of my head and pull my ears out when he's on.
Salisbury? Come on, he doesn't sound arrogant at ALL when analyzing, even though he's had such an AMAZING NFL career himself. And he's a stand up guy to boot, courtesy of Deadspin .
