What did Cato do to ESPN that made them hate him so much? Cato had a pretty good year IMO and they name an award after him. The Kelvin Cato Lifetime Achievement Award. LOL! What a bunch of dicks.

    All-NBA Jack Squat Team
AKA "The Kelvin Cato Lifetime Achievement Award"
C Kelvin Cato, Rockets: Hoarding jack squat in case of a famine.
F Kwame Brown Wizards: Michael Jordan hates you Kwame.
F Vin Baker, Celtics: Eligible next year for the Lifetime Bizarro Nonachievement Award.
F Danny Fortson, Warriors: Team paid him to stay away this year.
G Anthony Carter, Heat: Remember when he was Pat Riley's point guard of the future?

Cato was the biggest bright spot behind Yao this season. That article is a giant load of ****.

while i wholeheartedly disagree with him being on the team (he was pure hustle and aggressiveness this year) that "hoarding jack squat in case of a famine" line is classic. great line, shoulda gone to vin. no way vin isn't hoarding it all and then some.

They gave Vin Baker the LVP award. Least Valuable Player. They dissed him plenty.

I find that weird, cause I remember reading an article a while back talking about how Kevin Willis was with the team last year and he said that something like teaching Cato was like "lighting up a wet piece of paper". Then went on to say that Cato outhustled Willis for every rebound during a the SA game on Presidents day I believe. I agree, he has been a true bright spot this year and didnt whine or moan at all like Collier did.

That's because he saw some daylight. I bet Cato would reach Pippen territory in terms of whining if he saw pine all the time.

You can't tell me that Cato was as useless as any of the Sonics' centers (Jerome James, Calvin Booth) who are also receiving nice paydays.

It's ironic that Cato actually EARNED more of his money as a backup than as a starter. That description better fit last year's Cato. This year? Many centers in the league deserve it over Cato.

you guys don't get it, it's a "LIFETIME" achievement award; so factor in this year's performance with the rest and he still makes the cut. :)

Again, analysts show that they just like to follow stats and go on "hear-say" rather than watch games.
Anyone that has watched Cato play THIS YEAR knows how excellent of a backup he is.

if cato leads us to a championship (rather than steve or yao) they'll be demanding an inquiry into match fixing! :D

espn is full of a bunch of morons... except for the one's that picked yao for roy :D

cato doesn't deserve to be on this list. isn't he high on the rebounds per 48 minute list. i'm sure he's in the top ten. he's the only guy on the rox's roster that didn't take any garbage from anybody. several flagrant fouls a believe. yao should have had several instead of having people dunk on his buttocks all the time.

Maybe they're going on how much he's paid versus how much is expected of him. If that's true, then all the guys on that list are WAAAAY overpaid for the little expectations that their teams have for them. What is cato getting paid? $7-8 million a year just to get a few rebounds and put down a few easy alleyoops every game?
