i got to 32 in my count of touches, when I stopped in the first OT. Did anyone else count after the made of point before the game of Rudy saying he'd go to Yao 30 times.

it's getting time for the "no one but Rice or TMo or MoT or [insert a role player here] passing to Yao" to stop. Yao is going to make mistakes, but the more touches the more comfortable he'll get and the more defenses he will see and that is only a good thing.

so, now Francis is 49% in wins and 37% in losses. He just passed up Karl Malone for the biggest FG% gap. That is a correctable problem.

I completely agree. The guys do try to get the ball to Yao a lot more than the peple on here give him credit for. Yao's problem is that because of his lack of strength, he has trouble establishing and maintaining position in the post. And despite the 30+ touches last night, I think his problem was very apparent.

I know I'm venturing out on a limb and setting myself up for an array of criticism because of the "Mad Yao disease" which plagues most of the newer members here, but did you guys see how much trouble Yao had last night posting up on Samaki Walker and Mark F-ing Madsen??? Granted he got his 24 points, but did you see how much effort it took for him to establish himself against a pair of 6-9 scrubs. Samaki Walker is critized in LA the way people here criticize Rudy, because he flat out can not guard PF's in the post. And yet Yao seemed to have trouble with him- even with the 6 inch height advantage, it took Yao a considerable amount of effort to post up on him, and even once he got the ball, he had to take several dribbles to get set and make a move, which often times ended up being a fade away. Most of Yao's points came from dunks and free throws.

My whole point being, that if Yao had that much difficulty posting up on 6-9 Mark Madsen, then maybe the Mad Yao disease may also be preventing people from realizing that against the somewhat more formidable centers of the Western conference, he is having considerably more trouble, and hence the guards simply cannot get him the ball every time down, as many member here would prefer.
