    Rockets get dissed again

What happened to the Western Conference Finals when Hakeem destroyed Robinson or when Ralph hit shot?
Or even when we lost against the Jazz!

Agreed. You have to at least include the Ralph Sampson shot.

That series had everything including a young Akeem Olajuwon brawling (or nearly decapitating) Mitch Kupchak

Funny that they would include that controversial LA/Sac series that many say was handed to the Lakers by the refs. Can it be one of the greatest when it leaves a bad taste in the mouth of so many people?

Simple, that wasn't the Conference Finals :)

As to the others, it depends upon your definition of "best." They define it as "buzzer beaters, best battles, and unforgettable games."

The Olajuwon-Robinson matchup was great for Rockets fans, and the "lose on your home court"-thing was amusing, but Olajuwon dominated so totally, could it really be considered one of the "best battles?"

The series losing to the Jazz comes closer [EJ's "Oh Mother!" shot, followed the next game by the last-second shot over Clyde :( ], but that series kind of got swallowed up historically by MJ.

Were I to pick a single Rockets Conference Final series, the 1976-77 six game Eastern Conference Final which ended in a controversial call was probably more of a "classic series" than any of the more modern ones.

Now, if you want to talk semi-final conference series, the Rockets probably hold at least 2 spots in that top ten...

That guy (Jeff Merron) is an idiot.

He's the same one who left Hakeem off the list of top playoff performances (an error which was later corrected by Bill Simmons, thank goodness). I read that article this morning, but as soon as I saw who it was by, I knew what to expect.

write to him or to ESPN p2 (or to Simmons) and let them know how you feel.

    My bad.

Regardless, it was a 4-1 series. It might be considered a "great upset," but, other than that one shot, the series proper wasn't all that memorable EXCEPT TO ROCKETS FANS.

I agree with edc. i don't think any of our conference finals series really warrant being on that list. They were memorable to us, of course, but not so much overall.
