...in my view, mostly with their recent "roster moves"
We've seen David A replaced with Screamin A
We've seen the coming of Chad "Plagarize" Ford

And now, on the NBA front page, we get new Insider John Hollinger saying (in the headline) that Reggie Evans (I'll admit that he's having a crazy season if you look at his per 48 min numbers, except that per 48 stats are the most misleading thing you could go by) and Danny Fortson (only has avg double-digit rebounds twice in a season, minimum of 7 games) are
. Also, we're introduced to a new page 2 contributer, Scoop Jackson. Anyone that knows him from SLAM should be well aware that he can't write a single column without wedging in some racial tint somewhere. I personally think he must feel like it's his trademark - I'm the only one hear not afraid to talk about this!.

And am I alone in thinking that the 90 minute Sportscenters need to hit the road if they can't fill that much time? I can't stand all the sorry sap stories they've been doing. On NFL Mondays, it's fine, but past that....

ESPN, hey, don't they have some like, new gambling type show, called, like TILT or something, and didn't they have some movie about like Dale Earnhard called 3. And don't they have this gambling show called TILT? And then they have this TILT show too. "If you want to hurt the matador in a cash game, you've got to get out of the kiddie pool and start MAKING MOVES!" (a cash game among pro poker players as opposed to what - a debit card game? ). By the way, they also have this new show called TILT. Perhaps you've heard of it. The MATADOR. Hey, TILT is on. Let's start making some moves. TILT is awesome. An encore presentation of 3 follows TILT, which is followed by more TILT. CASH GAME! Don't get hurt, TILT IT baby. Michael Madsen is THE MATADOR. TILT GET THE HELL OUT OF THE KIDDIE POOL. Let's watch TILT. CALL YOUR CABLE OPERATOR, AND GET ESPNTILT TODAY!

No where in Hollinger's article does it say that Fortson and Evans are 2 of the NBA's best rebounders ever. Probably just an overzealous copy writer.

Sure their "roster moves" have been questionable, but they do provide unparalleled coverage of almost every single sport imaginable...

I'm not suggesting that they suck, or that they're worse than FSN. Just that they're slipping.

has anyone heard of the show TILT?

I'm kind of interested but don't really know what it's about or who's in it. If someone could fill me in I'd appreciate it.

By the way, Hollinger is a pretty serious stats guru so I wouldn't accuse him of being part of the new "all flash" look. I wouldn't blame the headline writer for what is likely a fairly researched piece (though I haven't read it). If anything his arrival is a positive sign.

Oh, and don't miss this week's episode of TILT, the new ESPN series. Thursday at 9 EST, only on ESPN. Here's a preview:

Episode 7, SHUFFLE UP AND PLAY: As Eddie wakes up after his birthday party to see his present dressed and walking out the door, The Matador is realizing the ugly side of his own winning streak. Molloy gives him the bad news. Lowball may be gone, but he still has to clean up his act. If he doesn't buy a legitimate share of the casino, the board will force him to become just another card player.

the continual reporting of BREAKING NEWS only to come back and say over and over again that what they reported would (or even already has) happened did not ultimately happen...well...that gets pretty tired.

unfortunately there's really no substitute in terms of TV sports programming. but i take their reports with a grain of salt. A-Rod can only be traded to the Red Sox so many times.

I don't have a big problem with ESPN, but SportsCenter ain't something that gets watched at my place. Not sure if anyone's noticed, but the show ISN'T ABOUT SPORTS. It's like Entertainment Tonight for athletes.

If one of these digital gizmo's could blank out everything except the actual showing of the NBA and NFL....it would be great.

But Sportscenter these days is crap, they showsports that should never be on TV like fishing and bowling.....poker should never be on TV....ever....I dont even have ESPN now. I got it disconnected two months ago and havent missed it at all.

I think all the difference you need is in the fact that Scoop is prominently featured on espen's front page, whereas Bill Bradley is prominently featured on SI.com's NBA page.

Of course, you also have my scary-ass eyebrows on our frontpage, so maybe that even things out ...

All of ESPN is crap. They are the MTV of sports and they are starting to make it a joke.

They try to make everything so dramatic like its the end of the world.

I watched the first episodes of that show TILT, any of you heard of it.

Actually it wasn't too bad for the first 4 or 5 episodes. Just got long and drawn out. Only so much of a show about Poker I can take. And now they put Bill Simmons on there. I like the guy's writing but he just tries too hard to be cool. The fact he talked his way onto an episode has officially killed my interest.

I hate Nascar so i didnt really care about 3. I play a little Hold em and i think Tilt is an awsome show. I bet you havent even seen an eposide of Tilt. I love stephen A but at the cost of DA im not sure about. Playmakers was a decent show too until the no fun league banned it. Whats so different about ESPN. I mean it really hasent made that many changes. It still has its core of live sports SC, PTI, and Around the Horn. I think Beg Borrow and Deal was one of the worst shows ive ever seen and it was very MTV like but im glad to see it hasnt come back. Dream Job was alright saw the first one havent paid any attention to the later ones. I really dont see too many changes on the TV station. The site is ok besides Chad Ford who could be the worst at everything ever. I say it hasnt gotten better or worse its still my favorite channel where i get my sports fix.

    PS
Bye Bye Plexico Burres we will miss thee.
