Is it Flash or is it a < div > with absolute position (..with flash in it)?

Is it true that if you get rid of a pop-up before it can load to 100% that the advertiser doesn't get paid for it?

OK, I've started getting this "Error Page Assistant" that takes me to Shopnav.com and it's driving me crazy. It's hard to get back using the back buttons and it also appears I'm getting more error pages since this thing got on my system.

I can't figure out how to get this damn thing off... any suggestions?

Shopnav is spyware. And its a pain to remove (believe me, I had it!).

If you go to Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs, youll find it in that list somewhere.

I go on the ESPN site all the time and have never seen a pop-up. You need to try POP-Up Stopper or some other pop-up blocker.

While we are speaking of spyware, I had a bad one on my pc. I still have it. What it does is it makes my homepage refer to a file saved on my pc, it's an offline version of a search engine. which, if ya click on will send it to the online version.

I absolutely had it. I couldn't get rid of it, so I replaced the file with an offline version of the BBS, then that loads instead when I open up my IE. Then I just click a link and I am on the BBS site, online.

I had something like that. Ad-Aware detected it and deleted it, but it would still always come back. Geek Superhero got rid of it for good, though.

Yeah, same thing here. The adaware couldn't get rid of it, and spybot didn't notice it. I have never heard of Geek Superhero.

Anyone else notice that MSN is no longer affiliated with ESPN.com, but instead now has joined forces with FOX Sports?

    Time to do some digging...

It is actually a Flash file that auto loads. Pretty clever actually.

Only if it is a pay-per-view ad. Most of them are pay-per-click meaning that the advertiser doesn't get paid unless you click the ad and are taken to his/her site.
