He's a free agent this offseason, and i think he would be a fantastic acquisition for the rockets. He'll come cheaply, is a serious outside threat, and would fit in perfectly coming off the bench for us (at 1 or 2).

what do you guys think? i figure we are too cap-strapped for any big FA signings this year, but this would be a solid little signing.

Depending on what type of roster moves we make I would definitely look at this guy. Especially if we ship Rice and his expiring contract off for someone else. We need someone to stretch the defense and open up the middle. Pike could do this and do it reletively cheaply!

Five bucks says that San Antonio signs Piatkowski and Jermain O'Neal and wins the next five NBA titles...

EP is one of those "guys that are scrubs, yet they seem to find a way to have a career game against the Rockets."

You can create a team of "scrubs who put up career numbers."

I think Piatkowski would be great. He could give us 5-7 points off the bench plus a clutch scorer in the 4th quarter.

But, like A-Train said, the Spurs will probably sign him Jermaine, AND Jason Kidd and Duncan and win the next 10 titles.:(

But you lose points thinking that Piatkowski even has a hint of point guard ability.

    rocketfat,

what you say is true (re moochie), but it is irrelevant to the fact that you suggested that Pike can play 1.

Nonetheless, since you're not a nostrodaumus type that makes a million predictions in the hopes of getting one right, some kudos to you.

This could be very true A-Train but if Brand signs for one year,we might realise this season that we need to improve our Roster, then with Rices contract ending next season, we can get Brand. In 04/05 we wil be competitive with San Antonio.

I remember Brent Price once scored like 50 points against the Rockets.

Even if that had any relevance, which it doesn't, what do you think the interest in Kevin Ollie is for?

You probably won't find anyone who detests Moochie's play as much as I do, (except maybe verse) but that doesn't mean Kelvin Cato is a small forward, Mo Taylor is a shooting guard (save the soft Mo jokes, please ;)) or that Eric Piatkowski is a point guard.

Not possible if the Lakers sign Payton and Malone.......maybe even just Payton.

That team is either going to be unstoppable or is going to implode mid way through the season.

My money (and hopes) are on the second one.

Did you happen to catch the All-star team being assembled in Los Angles? Everyone in the west can forget about a championship as long as they are there.

    Lakers get Payton and/or Malone.

1/3 way through the season, quiet bickering by Kobe because Payton is dominating the ball and funneling it to Shaq. Kobe officially opts out of his contract with the Lakers.

Kobe starts to get the ball more, Lakers dominate, but to a lesser degree. Payton starts funneling ball back to Shaq.

Playoffs hit, Lakers dominate, sweep all games, championship.

    Kobe leaves for the Grizzlies.

Finger pointing as to who bears the fault for Kobe leaving. Shaq+Kobe > Shaq+ aging Payton. Laker dynasty over. Rioting in the streets of LA.

Yeah! Thank God the slow Rockets have finally realized the Moochie really sucks! And they screwed up big time giving him that huge contract! That's why they are interested in Ollie...meaning they don't want Moochie! CUT HIM! Or maybe Jeff Van Gundy watched the games and told blind Carroll Dawson....
