See I haven't seen the Pilot in forever...maybe one more time after it originally aired, so I couldn't remember. But from people's descriptions of the finale and how it came full circle, it makes perfect sense. Honestly the finale felt real, felt authentic. Seeing Benton, Corday, Rachel, Carter, Weaver and Susan all reminiscing in the bar is something every group of friends reuniting would do. And I think it's good they didn't cram all the old characters into the episode either.

I just wish I knew more of Thandie Newton's backstory...I stopped watching I think when they were together but not married yet. So I didn't even know they had a son who died.

Also read an article today of how Rachel Greene's introduction gives more depth to Angela Basset's character. Because she's working at the same hospital where her son died, and Dr. Greene was the one who tried to save him. Now the roles are reversed, and she has the opportunity to help his daughter. Pretty cool.
