I haven't watched it in years. Stopped watching faithfully after Anthony Edwards left and stopped completely somewhere around the time Noah Wyle departed. But still I couldn't miss this event, especially if there's gonna be cameos from old cast members. I saw the episode with Dr. Greene earlier this season and that was definitely among the better episodes I've seen on the show. Just his character brought back fond memories. And I didn't catch too much of the retrospective, but what I did watch admittedly choked me up.
Watching it now. Missed the retrospective but have seen all of the episode so far. I'll get the torrent and watch the retrospective I guess.
i havent watched in a long time, but i have been watching the last few episodes just to see what happens, hopefully tonight does not disappoint.
We watched pretty much all of it. I admit that some of it was very emotional. In it's prime, it was one of the best drama's ever. Just a great, great show.
Kind of thinking there would have been some resolution with Thandie Newton, rather than the predictable way it ended. But then maybe if I had been watching I would have known what was going on with him and his wife, whom I'm guessing is estranged. I liked how they brought in Rachel Greene.
favorite episode was the live episode when they showed the Astros beating the Cubs in the background the night the Astros clinched the division in 1997
ER has been weak for years. But it was incredible back in the late 90s...never missed an episode. I would recored it on my VCR....yup VCR..before there was even Tivo. My fav episode was either when the helicopter landed on that jerk surgeon...or when Dr. Carter and Lucy was stabbed and Lucy died. Michael Crichton RIP!!!!
Lucy's death Ross's redemption Hathaway's deapartue The attack on Greene All the episodes leading towards Greene's death And Greene's return in this last season. Those are among my favorites. As you can probably tell, Greene was probably my favorite character and the show just wasn't the same for me when he left.
A little regretful to have not caught it over the past few years; I caught the last five minutes and really liked the "business as usual" ending (wouldn't that have been nice for Seinfeld?) and it's a nice reminder of when a #1 show actually had to be well-written, or at least written. #1 shows since ER back in '99 (After trading the top spot back-and-forth with Seinfield for 4 years beforehand): 2000 - Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? 2001 - Survivor: Australia 2002 - Friends 2003 & '04 - CSI 2005 - 2008: American Idol
I cried... and like the person above, I watched every episode until Greene died and then I watched some until Carter left for Africa... then, an episode here or there. I thought it was pretty fitting how the whole thing sort of mirrored the pilot episode. For those who haven't seen the pilot, I suggest you watch it and the finale to see how it was actually pretty artistically done. Good stuff. I miss good television drama.
I was really young when I watched the show on habitual basis, but quick question for anyone - how did Greene come back from the dead??
I wanted to ask this too. I must have missed it but my girlfriend has been watching the show religiously.
I watched it for a few years until Thursdays became my late nights at work. I did start to get annoyed after Carter left and it seemed that every commercial I would see for the show was like this: "Don't miss this weeks ER. It is a must see. You can't miss the must see episode of the season". It was like they had the same voice over every week they just changed the highlights. I haven't kept up with it or followed it, but my wife did watch last night and said it was pretty good.
BTW: I stopped watching in the late 90's but noticed that Uncle Jesse is/was on the newer seasons. How was the general audience reaction towards Stamos? - was he any good?
Stamos did play the drums ala Jesse and the Rippers style in last week's ER episode. This last season actually has been pretty good. Everyone came back in random episodes.
