With no experience...don't expect less than 50K...most likely 60k. There is no one out there worth a bean. I can easily find you that work.
Unfortunately, I can't really help you too much on the salary. I've been told that industry jobs pay better than working for a big four, in which case I'd say 60-ish is around where I'd peg it. But honestly, I haven't got a clue as to what salary you should be getting. Reading the job description, it looks like a pretty vanilla IT Audit position. IMO, IT Audit is a pretty unique animal. If you've never done it before, there will be something of a learning curve. You'll get the opportunity to learn a little about a lot of systems. I couldn't stand it at first, but once you begin to understand what IT audit means in a macro-sense, things will fit together better, and you might come to enjoy it. I'd suspect that you'll probably spend a very significant portion of your job working on SOX controls. You'll get to learn a lot about the business itself, how different divisions fit together, how IT processes and decisions are made, and how IT supports business processes. In my experience, being good at dealing with people (especially difficult people) is the most important skill you'll need. A lot of IT folks have no respect for IT Audit, and they may treat you badly sometimes. If you have a fragile ego or a short fuse, this is not a good business to be in. All-in-all, I have come to somewhat enjoy IT Audit. It's a unique way to see how the business and IT portions of a business come together, how all of the IT systems work, and meet lots of interesting people.
At first I thought you were an IRS auditor. I was going to tell you to Fck Off, but seeing that I'm not exactly sure what an IT auditor does, I will bid you good luck on your new future. Good luck and God speed on your audits.
