I'm glad that you decided to concede a few precious moments of your more than adequately apportioned leisure time to debate the positive and negative aspects to Yao Ming's game and development - even if said time has been self classified as "bored time." To the extent that you or others consider my tone overtly reactionary or my rhetoric inflammatory I do offer a complete and sincere apology.

It is debatable whether Yao is a "very good" player if solely on the grounds that said term "very good" is highly subjective. What is considered "very good" - or exemplary for that matter - by one party can be considered poor or substandard by another. And since it is perfectly irrational to debate the factualities of opinions, I will not debate your assertions.

Also, I would like to point out that to consider one's opinion "garbarge" just because you don't share that opinion or indeed share a contradictory one is considered intolerant and borderline ignorant. I would suggest in the future that should you decide to participate in venues such as this one that exist solely for the dissemination of opinions and the debate of the same, that you appreciate the right of someone else to have a view that he or she may or may not be passionate about and to offer evidence to back up their points. Also consider that if someone's opinion differs from yours it does not make them wrong and you right.

No matter how much you may like one or hate the other, statistically Yao and JBC are very similar. In fact, JBC averaged more points than Yao in his second year. Give me some facts that prove that Yao is superior. Not a "Yao will be great. I know it" prognostication but show me some facts.

Yao wrote something again on his BBS(www.yaoming.net) again, saying he could not feel asleep due to yesterdays' game and so he stayed late and wrote something.

I think it's time for Yao to stop spending too much time on the inernet and vedio games now. He is not a kid any more.

I'd rather see him spending more time in the gym to build up his legs and upper body.

My experience told me if you don't have strong legs you cannot become a good athlete. Yao's legs look strong but actually not. That's part of the reason that he was pushed out a lot of times. His upper body is weak too, and that's why he got his balls lost so many times.

Not to bash him, but just want the kid to be where he should be.

Haha. This is so funny. You act like the Rockets were world champions or !gasp! playoff contenders when Steve Francis was leading the show. But guess what? They missed the playoffs like 4 straight years in a row.

And guess what?? they're actually winning this year! We might actually make the playoffs! Who cares if Steve Francis stats don't look pretty! Who cares if Yao Ming's stats don't look pretty! It's all about whether they win basketball games.

For the moment, they look like a team that is jelling nicely. This isn't a sprint but a marathon ok?

    Cheers!

Man this is so moronic. Yao can do what he wants to do in his free time. Posting after games, is always at night. You expect him to work on his game, late at night? I suppose you want all the other players to stop going to nightclubs/stripclubs and partying after games then, right?

Also, I don't know how old you are, but your videogames comment is pretty ignorant and probably shows that you aren't of this generation. You do realize that, the majority of the market is comprised of people in their 20's and 30's? Maybe the comment of games being just for kids was true in the 1980s or something, but that is clearly not the case anymore.

I thought his posts are not done by Yao himself. But I was wrong.

So he is actually wasting some time on internet. Did Rockets officials encourage this kind of frequent exposure to the fans?
I bet JVG might not happy with this.

Yao should get girlfriends and practice all kinds of shoot, in and out, physically and offensively.

THIS THREAD IS INCREDIBLE. I AM TOTALLY AMAZED AT THE RESPONSES THIS JUUWHAT IS GETTING.

I doubt very much any single YOF's thread would get this much of responses. Typically up to two or three sentences, the YOF will already be told to get lost and to head back to the Yao-mania site. Just in case yall dont know. This SOF Juuwhatagain might be just a 13 years old kid, still learning to mastxxbate in front of a TV. SO PLEASE LEAVE HIM ALONE. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

Even in a thread like this, you still can find a way to bash YOF, that's some skill.......

Just finished reading all the threads. MManal has a great post but overall, I think the vitriol against Juugie is a bit extreme. I am in no way comparing the two's talent's or demeanor, but Yao reminds me a lot of Rasheed Wallace. Both have great skills, both still seem to have tremendous promise, but neither have been effective at being "the man" on a team.

Juugie's point about all the other greats showing big numbers early is pretty compelling. I pretty much think that as an average, although there have been several games where Yao has been denied the ball, he's gotten it as much as he can handle. A basketball team is a pretty good self-regulating system. Those teams with Dream, Kareem, Shaq, TD, Ewing gave those guys the shots because they could carry the team.

Another way to think about it perhaps is what this team would look like with Yao and a bunch of role players. Does anyone honestly think we'd be a playoff team if the Rockets were "built around" Yao? I know Jordan had Pippen and Shaq has Kobe (and malone and payton!), but Yao seems more like Pippen to me.

I just think maximizing his ability to help a team means not making him a focal point on offense. He's more of an opportunistic offensive player. He has his moments, but attacking the defense doesn't seem to fit his game or personality.

So true. Don't be serious with this guy, he's the one always want to find something wrong with Yao and bash him. Though lately he could not find much to dish out his hate.

    LOL :D

So true. I swear I fell asleep watching the Rox plays last time on ESPN because no one is really passing the ball. I can't figure out why when things go bad, SF & Cat just stopped passing the ball downlow. Isn't it common sense to pass downlow and get high percentage point when your outside shots are not falling.

Yeah, but Rox ball are very ugly most of the time I watched them on TV. Last night against Spur, the fans need to request a refund.

Yao needs to drink a gallon of Red Bull before the games.

I love having him on our team, I just wish he would be more tough in games. I am sick of hearing that he is tired.

I love this team, no matter how bad they play...,,,,..... :(
