I'm seeing lots of "if we get the #x seed, we'll match up with so & so". Know what? None of that matters. Pay attention to how the players are addressing it. "One game at a time." Win tomorrow (tonight), and the rest takes care of itself. Everyone's looking to the big 5 game stretch already, we've got 3 potential eastern play off teams to contend with THIS WEEK. Focus on the now, worry about tomorrow . . . tomorrow.
Um, last time I checked, we're just fans of the team, not playing on it. Let everyone have their fun. We're on a damn message board. It's not like we're missing team practice to speculate.
The only things that would be nice is stuffing all the "Media Hate" threads in one thread and the "Media Love" threads in another. Is becoming quite an annoyance having to come into the message board and seeing the first page flooded with what 30 different sources think of the Rockets.
I wish there were more threads like this, rather than the alternative. 6 stars That's the beauty of sports. Anybody can beat anybody. If the result was predetermined, then why would anyone watch? New Jersey can beat us. Let's enjoy the ride.
IMO, as far as seeding goes, it only matters is we get 1-4, that way we can at least look for round 1 home court advantage.. the west is so tight, the team we face doesn't even matter.. hypothetically, if we end up with the 1 seed, and face the 8th seeded (nuggets, warriors, mavs, hornets), it's not like we've shown this season that we totally OWN any of these teams.. no matter who we play in round 1, it'll be a tough matchup... now back to the current win streak..
Noice. Every time you get some "emotion" that makes you need to start a thread saying regurgitated crap, please just don't. You sound like a PC interview given at the end of a game: "we got to take it one game at a time. . . focus on our next opponent" How is that an original thought?
Great TMBG theme song for "Malcolm in the Middle". They played it live on 3/4 at House of Blues. 3/4 being the day after my birthday & seeing TMBG live after 15-16 years was fun!
I do not have a problem with speculations of matchups within reason of course. What I do not like is overconfidence and overlooking the opponents. The Nets are capable of beating the Rockets as they fight for a playoff spot and they would love nothing more than to create a name for themselves by beating us, instead of being victim #19. Boki would love shoot the lights out against his former team. Vince, Harris, Jefferson are all capable players. I will be at the game cheering the Rockets on ! Be Humble and Hungry.
The one thing I do agree with is people trying to project our matchups. Analysis of teams we could play is one thing but actually projecting the seeds is impossible. Practically every West playoff team has a brutal stretch ahead. The entire makeup of the seedings will be drastically different in the end. Possibly week by week.
