Ever been involved in a heated discussion with someone over something that really doesn't have a correct answer one way or another? I think you all know what I mean. I was thinking one day, trying to come up with some of those questions. Of course, the one basketball-related one I could think of is: "who is better - Kobe Bryant or Tracy McGrady?," which many can debate but there really isn't any solid evidence to support one or the other. There's loads of them in politics, starting with: "which is the right political party: democrat or republican (or neither)?" I'm sure there's been many a debate in the Debate & Discussion forum on political issues that really can't be solved one way or another...or at least can't draw more than a few people to one particular consensus. So, are there any others you can think of, unsolveable questions that have been irritating? Can't say anyone will have an answer for you, though.
Is Stevie a superstar? Did the Rockets suck because we didn't give the ball to Yao Ming enough? It always breaks down into a bashing contest between the pro-Steve people and the anti-Steve people. Others- Is America the greatest nation in the world? Is Islam a violent religion? Is France a good ally? Should the Dixie Chicks shutup? You know when there is a couple having a big arguing over something silly, (like say not putting down the toilet seat), and you think "what is this argument really about?" That's how these argements are.
Is it better to be single or involved (or married or whatever). I'm sure there are definite opinions for each side but it probably boils down to where you are in your life, if you've found the right person, etc.
Who was Jack the Ripper? What is the meaning of life? Is there a God? Is love a positive or negative experience? Who shot JFK? Is the Bible meant to be literal or allegorical? What is real? etc...
