Dang, that's a lot of nickels and dimes. I have reliant and I definitely don't get charged all those fees. My plan: Average price 9.4¢ per kWh, based on 2000 kWh, includes the following: Energy charge per kWh: 5.5¢ Base charge per month: $0.00 CenterPoint Energy Delivery charges passed through without mark-up : $9.45 per month and 3.4017¢ per kWh
The transmission and delivery fee isn't really any different relative to the OP, you're just not seeing it broken out. Based on the OP's 1914 kWh used, that would come out to $74.85 (.034017*1914+9.45) versus the $77.84 he paid this month. It does look like your electricity charge at 5.5 cents is a couple cents cheaper than his 7.9 cents. That would save around $30-40 each month, but in part depends where you live.
I have Amigo Energy and on my last bill I used 1,298KWh and total bill was $106.46 so that is comparable per KWh to what you are paying.
CenterPoint charges all the competitive retailers the same. The only variance you will have from retailer to retailer will be what the retailers charge.
some providers hide these fees in their kwh rates and some break them down in details and give you a lower rate, which sometime kinda backfire and scared the hell outta customers.
