thank u sir Nearly all interviews in today's report were conducted before Tuesday night's town hall style debate in Nashville. Any movement in voter preferences as a result of this debate will be apparent in coming days. I await the good news....
McCain MELTDOWN!! I was just watching a live broadcast of McCain and Palin giving speeches at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, Palin first, and then John McCain, and McCain is speaking now. He just said, "My fellow prisoners... " ...to the crowd, meaning "my fellow Pennsylvanians," or "my fellow Amewricans," or something of that nature. Instead, he said, "My fellow prisoners," and didn't realize it. The crowd, for a moment, sat in stunned silence. It was truly bizarre. What is happening to this man? Really... what is happening to John McCain, the John McCain we all thought we knew? Heck, right now, I am sorry for the man. He is losing it before our eyes, in my opinion.
Maybe he is just tired. At least that is the excuse they gave Obama when he said he had visited 57 states.
I don't think the gaffe is that big of a deal really. We've all said silly things that come out of nowhere. But the guy is under a lot of pressure, and isn't handling it well. He has really had a serious meltdown since the economic crisis started, and his campaign has been falling apart. He really doesn't seem like he is able to handle the pressure of the job of President.
Not a big deal, but the cumulative effect, especially so close to last night's "that one" and the rejection of Brokaw as Treasury Secretary, may turn it into a story.
Taken in isolation, rimster, I would agree, but as you point out, the cumulative effect is adding up. And I would argue that, fair or not, this is the kind of gaffe that will have legs. We'll see.

Day after (a little over 1/3 of the poll data) Gallup still has Obama up 11 (52-41) http://www.gallup.com/poll/111052/Gallup-Daily-Obama-52-McCain-41.aspx
I've seen Vietnam vets have flashbacks before and it can get pretty intense. Someone needs to get Col. Samuel Trautman in to talk him down before first blood is drawn.
Boom baby! Good move by Obama as it shows he is not letting up at all. He wants to lengthen his coattails and thoroughly crush McCain.
