You want to fix this mess? Shrink the rotation to 8 1/2 players.

Right now Rick is playing too many guys, they don't know where to play on offense or defense, they are not comfortable with each other and they are always out of position.

Too many players are playing and they are not playing with the same group when they are playing.

To me, here is what they should do.

    PG - Brooks/Lowry
    SG - Martin/Lee
    SF - Budinger
    PF - Scola/Hill
    C - Yao

Those are the primary 8, and you mix in a 9th in situational duty, be it Brad Miller, Shane Battier, Chuck Hayes, Dampier or Jared Jeffries.

You play a 3 man rotation at both the Big spots, and a 3 man rotation at the wing spot.

And once those guys get it down, you can slowly add in others if necessary.

Bill Simmons was sort of right, it is ok to have a lot of talent, you just can't play it all at once.....it just leads to chaos and indecision.

I hope Rick and Morey figure it out, but to me it is fairly clear, we just have too many guys they are trying to squeeze into one rotation.

It is not going to ever work.

Need a ****ing new head coach.

Rick is cluesses out there in pressure situations and he doesn't know how to get this team motivated.

Hell I would take Elston Turner.

    I 100% agree

Except Rick sucks at subbing for situational moments.

You could substitute Hayes or Jeffries there, but I like the young energy he brings and you always have Yao or Scola as the main low post threats with him and him guarding the weakside with length and athleticism and shot blocking.

We're wasting away the other talent.

Might as well trade them for a superstar.....

I disagree. He was very active out there tonite.
    4 points
    3 blocks
    9 rebounds

Pretty good for basically playing the first time this season.

Morey has collected too many "assets". He needs to start dealing some of them for picks or a superstar.

On back to backs, It's Hill for 48 mins at C and Scola for 48 min at PF. I am not sure either guy can last without getting into foul trouble or totally wasted.

Lee is too small to play at SF, when Bud sits..

Hill is our most athletic big. Probably our best shot blocker and from the few minutes he's played a really good offensive rebounder.

I'd be fine with him behind Scola or Yao.

On back to backs, you substitue in a center who is appropriate, Miller, Dampier, Jeffries, Hayes......

But before we get the back to backs figured we got to get the first nail into the wood.

And Lee would be playing with Martin who is 6'7"......last year we played Lowry and Brooks together....we can play Martin and Lee together.....

We are just playing too many guys, they have no idea who is going to play with them and what their teamates style of game is, ...it is killing this team.

Didn't he shrink the rotation tonight against New Orleans? No Miller, and Hayes only played because Scola got into early foul trouble. Maybe I'm wrong.

That would be nice, but in the meantime Rick can get more out of this team by playing fewer guys.

Only on back to backs...when Yao doesn't play.

If you notice we are not getting beat on the rim, we are getting beat on the perimeter this year.....every team we have lost too has been beating us from 15 feet and out.

    And who's fault is that?

The players you pulled from the rotation are Battier, Hayes, Jeffries, and Miller. They are not why we are getting beat from the perimeter.

Our pg are too creative for their own good. Those behind the back passes by AB0, those no look passes by KLow. Also when bud passing to Yao in the middle of the lane. All of the above are fundamental mistakes. The young crop still need to get more mature with their game. These little things cost us the game.

    Durvasa,

If you want them to play then take someone out of my purposed rotation.

The point still stands....Eight and 1/2 men should be the rotation.....

    Hayes for Hill

    Battier for Lee

Whatever....8 guys.....so we can get some cohesion out there.
