no rookie has even done that, I think Dirk did it after his rookie season, and someone else did it, maybe Horry.
Personally, I'd rather see him make more high percentage shots inside, but if you are all happy with him being misused on the offensive end so much, I guess it's OK...
Exactly. Does anyone know if he takes more 3-pters than 2-pters? I really don't want him to become the next Horry. Please don't ruin this guy, let him dominate inside.
it's pretty hard to ruin a 19 year old kid, especially when he's coming along at a comfortable pace... he shoots the 3's because he'd good at 'em and cause he only has the tiniest bit of a post-up game.
Griffin has taken 231 three pointers and 336 two pointers. So, 40.7% of his shot attempts are three pointers, which is pretty high for a power forward/center
"I really don't want him to become the next Horry" while i don't want EG to play the same style as Horry (ie roleplayer with a bit above ave game, like 3pters), people should also stop discounting Horry so much. He has managed to collect 4 championship rings playing like that. I realise he was never a key piece to the teams he played on, but he still was very important in the play-offs for both HOU & LAL. You can't get 4 rings by good luck/right-time-and-place alone.
A-Train, thats what I'm talking about. I don't know why we would want to turn Griffin into that type of player either.I never said I wanted him to post up every play, but he will never learn to play the post if he's 23ft away. I'm pretty sure Duncan had a good enough stroke to shoot a 3, but Pop didn't have him out there. He needs to do the same kind of work J. O'Neal did with Aguirre and use his length and footwork to work the post. The 3pt shot is just a bailout.
Come on. I love Eddie, but the man has a miniscule post-up game. You can say what you want, but he cannot dribble a lick, needs to improve on back-to-the-basket moves, and is overall primarily a 3-point shooter and a mid-range set-shooter. I do believe, however, Eddie will work on all these things in the offseason, adding an adequate post-up game. He'll work on ballhandling too, and taa daa! We'll have the Eddie everyone's talking about.
