Anyone else felt that? It was so big a couple of things fell off my dresser. I was just lying on my bed watching a DVD and I was like "whoa". Good thing the spinning ceiling fan didn't fall on me.
Spinning ceiling fan over me as well so I grabbed my lappy and jumped under the desk. Wasn't too bad over here, more of a prolonged rumble.
i felt it but it wasnt not an issue here, where was the epic center. my dad was saying studio city but if that was the case i would have really felt it strong
I hear it was around Hawthorne. I'm about ten mins away and felt it, but it wasn't horrible. Prolonged rumble is a good description.
I've never felt an earthquake. I move to Cali this summer so maybe I will eventually get to feel one but for now I'll stick to hurricanes and the occasional tornado.
What city do you live in. I live in Anaheim. It was pretty intense here but nothing fell over. I know the epicenter was in Lennox/Hawthorn area. I work in south bay so I hope everything is ok at my job.
Oh and the only place I know of in Lennox is this strip club called Jet. I hope everyone is ok in there.
I'm at LAX now (waiting for my flight back home after spending 24 hours in the wretched city to watch the Lakers/Rockets game) and didn't feel anything.
Some prolonged tremors felt here. The sound of everything shaking wasnt nice. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/regional/states/us_deaths.php Possible Swine Quake Outbreak? Largest CA earthquake ever recorded (a 7.9) only killed 1 person....Though the 1906 San Fran quake (7.8) killed 3000. So it depends where it happens. Hurricane Katrina killed about 2000. Only 2 people died from earthquakes this past decade in the US. There's been more reported earthquakes, too.
I've lived in So Cal for 8 years now. This has been the worst one that I have experienced. I'm here at work now, and talking to some co-workers who live closer to the epicenter, they're saying that they had some china falling over and the t.v. almost tipping over at their place.
I was driving so I didn't feel anything. last big one (summer 2008) I was literally in the ocean so I didn't feel that one either...
