I only saw Ubisoft, and yeah, it was terrible. The 3DS is a really, really cool idea though, it's unfortunate that their presentation didn't show it in use much (from what I read).

Wii functionality + PS3 graphics = awesome, though. I'm still not sold on the Kinect.

Underwhelming show so far....have a few meetings today and then will walk the floor more.

So far the booth babes are the best thing at the show.

I do have some pics......took some video of Zelda, got a pic of the 3DS, and some of Kinnect (which games looked like crap) but was very cool as far as a video conferncing system and being able to control your DVD without a remote.

Ed Boon, co-creator of the MK series, explains how he plans on changing everything that fans know with the new game:

“So we’re kind of doing a Back to the Future type of thing, where Raiden is about to be killed by Shao Kahn, and just before he delivers the last blow, he sends a mental message to his earlier self, so the camera rewinds back to Mortal Kombat 1. The Raiden from back then gets a message and he doesn’t know what’s going on, but he knows something bad’s going to happen, and the game spans Mortal Kombat 1, 2 and 3, retelling the story with an enlightened Raiden, and he’s changing the course of things, so everything you’ve seen happen before – Liu Kang winning, the guys turning into cybernetic ninjas, are changed around, so you might see a character become cybernetic who wasn’t before, and so you see a different version [of events].”

There are so many other questions that rise from this storyline....Like Ok if he can go back into the past then why the hell didn't he stop Liu Kang death in the Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. Or just kill Shang Tsung from the beginning.....sounds like a bullsh** story line but I'll bite.

Also Dead Space 2. Looks really good, and was probably one of the best third person horror games. Everything that Resident Evil 5 was suppose to be Dead Space was. Will buy the first for sure.

Watching some of these presentations, its looks like a whole lot of Please Women and Children TAKE US HOME, BUY ME! No wonder the conference seems underwhelming. Seems Sony and Microsoft is 3 years late to the party and no kind of sleek branding of their promos can shake that thought away. They say women make up 40% of all gaming everywhere.
But the E3 audience looks all dudes.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but my issue with motion gaming is when I'm trying to complete a game, I dont see myself getting up at 2 AM to finish oooone last level, getting on my feet and dancing around putting my whole body into it. I'm gonna want to sit on my lazy fried fatty food eating ass and pick up a controller instead of doing all that.

Does this mean this generation of consoles will get extended life since they're investing so much into these extra features? Or will they **** block their own special add-on features and release all new consoles soon?

Yeah, probably. Both seem to be treating these new devices as the "next generation" for their systems. Everyone is also doing OK on the business side as well, so not really much incentive to start a new cycle.

    On another note...wow Kojima:

More at the link, but here's the video:

Apparently the Konami conference was pretty good too, although I haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

Bethesda is busy publishing other developers' games this year: Fallout New Vegas, Brink, Rage, and Hunted: Demon's Forge.

I don't think we'll see a new Elder Scrolls until 2012 at the earliest. They probably haven't even started development yet.

The Old Republic trailers look too good for a MMO. They need to work that kinda engine onto Forced Unleashed

The trailers are CG, not the actual engine.

I think the more important point is that everyone is FINALLY doing OK financially (Nintendo excepted - they've been great all along with the Wii), so they have no incentive to go back into debt (or into even more debt, in at least Sony's case) by releasing a new console and further fracturing the install base, especially in this economy.

In seems like development cycles and the amount time to earn a return on investment have both been stretched out for a longer time period in this generation. I think that is probably a good clue for us not getting new consoles (Nintendo excepted again) for another few years. I agree with you that the motion control add-ons are an attempt to breath more life into the consoles in hopes that they'll continue their popularity for another 2-3 years.

One of the more entertaining MvC3 videos I've seen so far:

You might want to take the last part out, rumor has it that Kinect doesn't even work if you are sitting down, so if you are watching a movie and want to fast forward, you'll have to stand up and do it, then sit back down.

i know, but I can wish

I heard a rumor that you might not have to buy a sub controller for the Move. Just sub in the duelshock and it will work the same. Anyone else heard this.

Yeah, I wish it was that good looking also. It may be the first MMO I actually play.

Also, Rage is looking amazing. G4 had an interview with Tim Willits from id where they went through parts of the game. The crazy thing is that it was running on the 360 at 60fps! If it can run that well and look that good on an Xbox, I'm wondering what id has up their sleeves for Doom IV on the PC.
